With a 9% concentration, Byrna Max is the one of the most powerful chemical irritant rounds on the market today. BYRNA PEPPER Byrna Pepper uses a 5% OC/Pava formula. This is ten times stronger than most of the rounds found on the market today. Upon contact with the assailant, the pepper causes an intense burning sensation inducing “temporary blindness,” searing pain and respiratory distress. Highly effective. Don't do what I did . . . . . . I slammed my magazine into my SD like I have always done with my standard .45 Cal. handgun. In doing so, I cracked one of the OC / CS projectiles slightly. Later when I changed out the mag. to do some target practice with a friend, I got just a wee' bit of the powder in my fingers and didn't know it. Later I wiped some moisture away from my eyes and instantly my eyes were on fire. I couldn't keep my eyes open and had to wash them out with a whole lot of water. These and the Pepper balls will totally stop any assailant - Guaranteed !!!
