OhmKat Video Doorbell Power Supply - Compatible with Ring Video Doorbell PRO - Needs No Existing Wiring - Transformer, Adapter, Power Kit & Supply All in One

I ordered this product over 2 years ago (it was the old style with the pillbox inline). It worked perfectly from day one and was super easy to install. Then one day it stopped working. I figured 2 years of constant use was pretty good lifespan for it, so i went back to amazon and was going to order the exact same one again and get another two years out of it. I noticed that it looked different (the new one doesn't have the pillbox and has a quick connector), so I read through the description to see what was different. One of the things I noticed was OhmKat advertised a "Lifetime Warranty". I figured it was worth a try to see if it was still covered, and it was! They sent me out a new one the next day and my Ring was back up and running perfectly! It was just as easy to install as the first time and is working perfectly!! Thanks OhmKat!! (Pro tip: I used the old wires to pull the new ones through and it was a 2 minute job to replace the old power adaptor.)

So far so good! I have to say that I was a bit skeptical about this power supply since I would have imagined that the Ring team would come up with such a power supply if it were possible. I am not sure why they haven't provided their own device yet. In a nut shell, this power supply does power up the ring pro doorbell and it does a very good job at it!The installation was very easy. The doorbell powered up after some time and it is working great! It took a little time for the device to fully power up. It's almost like it had to build up a charge or something. Now the ring pro is working great.I attached a picture to show what the ring app shows in the device health section. The voltage sometimes shows "3994" or something similar but I don't think that's a problem since the device has been working great.I also purchased the extender wires so that I can run the wiring a bit more conspicuously since I didn't have an existing doorbell and I don't want to drill holes.I'll update the review if anything new comes up.

The device is great especially since I originally had the battery charged Ring. The longest time is for installing this for me was to figure out where to place the Ring Doorbell Pro for best coverage without capturing the traffic. Then It did take a while to bore a hole through stucco and through interior drywall and feed the lead wire before mounting the Ring bracket. Simple to connect because I already had installed a Ring Chime. It all paired fine once I connected to Wi-Fi.

Displayed low power for a while following purchase but finally died 2 years in. Luckily Ring now produces it's own power supply. Should fix the issue.

Bought this in 2018 for a Ring pro doorbell. It worked fine and finally died after 5 and 1/2 years (2023). Replaced with the Ring brand adapter.

Tested it before I installed and it worked fine. Installed doorbell and it powered on for 3 seconds then died. Sorry people this transformer is junk. The return process has been difficult. They didn't respond for weeks. When they finally did after 3 requests the return label was the size of large postage stamp. Had to work to resize it.

When I got my Ring Pro, I couldn't find any electricians to install it. After asking the 10th one, I decided to install it myself. A little about myself- I have no problem following instructions but rewiring or connecting electronics isn't something I do every day.The kit is easy to understand. You need a phillips screw driver and drill to install this thru a wall in any home entrance. Just keep in mind that the cord needs to connect to an outlet. The instructions walk you through each step. The OhmKat instructions are better than the Ring doorbell instructions.I'm also really happy with the customer service. I sent them a question and they responded within hours to my email. Very happy with power supply.

As prior others have stated, this is a perfect solution for those of us that don't have a wired doorbell already installed. Installation was easy and quick, and the unit functions as advertised with no issues.What I would also like to comment on was the diligent manner in which my emailed queries about the product were answered before I purchased...always in the same day, usually in just an hour or so. It's obvious the sellers are very focused on customer service (at least from my interactions with them) and I'll be ordering another power supply when I get my second Ring installed.
