The hob has a handy individual neon power indicator light so you will always be able to see if the hob is on or off. It s built to last, is durable, corrosion resistant, easy to clean and has an adjustable temperature control function which acts a safety measure. It has a thermostatic dial to switch on and control the hobs temperature. When the hob reaches the set temperature it will stop increasing the heat and maintain an even temperature for your cooking. When the heat of the hot plate reaches the setting temperature it stops drawing power until the hot plate falls below the setting making it more efficient for rationed power supply. I have boiled water and heated soup 5 minutes from my Jackery battery. It’s small, cheap, light and effective. There is an inbuilt assumption in my head it would not stand up to constant heavy use for many months but that is not it’s purpose. I want a cheap, effective emergency option for hot food in the event of a prolonged power cut over a few days.

I bought the Geepas 1000W Single Hot Plate for emergencies. It would also appeal to anybody wanting to cook from an electric power source camping or in a caravan. I want the ability to cook basic hot food the event of a power cut. Would I buy it again? Yes- as long as I had a separate hot plate if I was using a frying pan. This is definitely a good deal for the price, but you can only use 2 small saucepans at the same time, or MAYBE 1 small and one medium small saucepan. Anything bigger and the pots are too big to sit side by side on the burners, and one hangs off. We did manage to use one large skillet using both burners under it to brown ground beef and it worked, but almost half the pan had no heat. Still- solid product! Just make sure you have appropriately sized pans to fit it.
