Review: Upgraded from Gen 3 - If your Gen 3 is in Good Condition, I would say upgrading is not worth it. But My Gen 3 was 7 years old, and this upgrade was worth it. Sound quality is about the same, maybe a little better. Microphone quality is better, still have problems sitting the headset on the deck and it actually charge. Pros- Looks nicer, Newer, and battery life is much better. Cons- Charger Deck is hard to get it charging. The headset isnt super loud (Im half deaf though, may just be me) you need an application to change Mic volume. All in all, I would recommend Astros to anyone. There my favorite headset

Other than the micro USB cord that came with it not fitting tightly in the base, works just as well as my xbox headset. Just used one of my countless micro USB cords I had. The ps5 does not power the base on in rest mode. But I can use my xbox base to charge it just gotta set it on the ps base after powering the ps5 on to resync with that base.

If your Gen 3 is in Good Condition, I would say upgrading is not worth it. But My Gen 3 was 7 years old, and this upgrade was worth it. Sound quality is about the same, maybe a little better. I have this same headset for my xbox so I decided to try a renewed for my ps5, since it was half the new price. Other than the micro USB cord that came with it not fitting tightly in the base, works just as well as my xbox headset. Just used one of my countless micro USB cords I had. The ps5 does not power the base on in rest mode. But I can use my xbox base to charge it just gotta set it on the ps base after powering the ps5 on to resync with that base.

First headset delivered was defective from the moment it was turned on. Second set was delivered within a couple days, so that was very nice. So far the second pair of headphones are having an issue with the buttons on the right side of the headset. The sound is spectacular and everything else is nice so far. As long as they dont fail within a couple months i might give it a slightly higher rating. Update: the left headphone has lost a significant amount of sound quality. If these are the first time buying astro headphones, id recommend buying new. These will not show you the quality of real astro headphones. Final update: these are not worth purchasing. They have officially stopped working and appear to be a cash grab.
