DecoFlair Boom Bowl Cell Phone Sound Amplifier - White

The first day I received this I did not think DecorFlair Boom Bowl Cell Phone Sound Amplifier worked. I was prepared to return it. Then, the next day I placed the cell phone in it while listening to a program, and surprisingly it did amplify it. I also tried placing the cell in a regular bowl and it did change the sound a bit, but who wants to have their eating bowls sitting around the house? And, actually, the bowl did not sufficiently change the sound. So, I tried the Boom Bowl again-while there was other ambient noise (in kitchen) when a call came in. I wanted others to be able to hear the conversation and placed it in the Boom box. Sure enough, it amplified the sound. We were able to hear it above coffee brewing, water running, while cabinets opened and closed, dishes being put away. I was shocked, the sound of the voice was still heard, amplified. Maybe it needed a day to settle in or needed to settle into just the right position. This is better than connecting phone or non-bluetooth iPod to a BOSE speaker or such. It's also easy to carry from room to room. Nice to use while doing mundane but necessary errands like laundry or having to wear bluetooth headphones or having to wear headphones with non-wireless gadgets. So, I would suggest allowing a few days of trying it before returning it. It worked for me! I will probably order a few in different colors to avoid carrying it from room to room.Update-Oct. 2018-Found this to work quite well. Maybe it needed more time but it definitely amplifiesbsound and even with a bit of background noise like the sound of a fan. Would purchase again!

I absolutely love my phone amplifier. I was looking for something to use in my car because I can never hear anyone clearly. I thought there would be an app or electronic device that would help but couldn't find anything that worked. You can see by looking at it that this is based on the shape of a parabola - something used in the better concert halls like The Met in NYC. With that shape in a concert hall it reflects and focuses the sound so that you can hear the sound clearly in all parts of the audience area.I really didn't think that this would work in the car because of the bulky size but I figured out a way to get it to sit on my console so it doesn't slide off . Now I can hear my phone in the car over all of the road noise. I looked all over for something a little bit cheaper because I felt it $22 for ceramic bowl was crazy. I tried a lot of different shapes and materials but without success. I was so frustrated that I finally just bought this and was happy with the results. It really works with my Iphone. Just point the speaker at the back wall. So many other uses too...spoon rest, desk planter etc... With that said, a small ceramic bowl does the same thing if you can tilt it on its side.

It does boost the sound of the phone... however, not as much as I expected. I've found that I can get the same amplification from placing my phone in a mason jar or a simple decorative box from the dollar store.

The item itself is fine, but the packaging is terrible. The bowl was glued to a cardboard box with something that I cannot remove with soap, water, even Goo Gone stuff. The bottom of the bowl is sticky and messy. I wouldn't want to get it on the furniture, but it's not coming off.The inside had a sticker that was also glued on with extra effort. By trying to remove it I scrubbed of some of the bronze finish. I would recommend purchasing this item at a physical store where you can see for yourself how well it badly it's packaged. As for sound quality, they are all the same.

I bought another one of these on impulse last year and I loved it! It is a great amplifier for a cell phone and this one is even better because there is a small hole in the bottom back for the charger cord to come through. It is ceramic, so, as I learned with my first one, they will break when a cat knocks it off a bathroom counter! Totally worth replacing though.

This is a low tech way to enhance the sound from a cell phone, it certainly isn't a speaker but it definitely raises the decibels. The price point is great, the look is sleek-also keeps my cell phone dry and off of damp counter tops.

This makes the sound louder, for sure. Just not better... still tiney. Its pretty. But it has turned into a catch all in my bathroom. I could use it for a hundred other purposes as well.
