I'm an adult that likes to read books for all age groups, and I found this book to be a totally fun read! Anyone who loves video games or RPG will thoroughly enjoy this book! It's the perfect book for kids who don't like reading, because it's just like playing a video game in written form. There's a lot of action, and some really funny scenes at the middle school (like the quest to steal the "Cake of Gold", ie twinkies, from the dieting teachers in the teachers lounge). If you have middle schoolers, this book is guaranteed to keep them reading till the end. The best thing is that there is a kind of moral to the story, but it's subliminal, so it doesn't come across as preachy. It's more of a coming of age kind of thing in a fun way. I highly recommend for all ages!

John David Anderson writes another thoroughly entertaining story. The main character gets to experience life in a video game, and unlike other authors that have tried this storyline, John keeps this storyline in the believable from the perspective of the main character. Very talented writer writing wonderful stories that all ages can enjoy.

I purchased this for my grandson.  He enjoyed it almost as much as Anderson's novel: Ms Bixby's Last Day.  Both books are great selections for middle school readers. The pace is energetic and there is  just enough humor and character development to keep one reading.
