Like the other reviews say, it's really easy and works well. No need to install the drivers from the enclosed disk. Went from my laptop's built-in WiFi N adapter speeds of maybe 35Mbps to 99Mbps. Even with a cable I was getting up to 57Mbps. My only "complaint" is it sticks out a bit more than I'd like but it's not a big deal. Now if only my internet provider would send me the 200Mpbs speed I'm paying for.UPDATE: So this adapter crapped out on me at the end of July. I had about 3 months of really good experiences with it but then it just stopped working well. I had all sorts of hardware issues while I had it plugged in and it would randomly just turn off. I tried it on another machine to make sure it wasn't just my laptop and had the same issues. Since I've unplugged it, I haven't had any hardware issues. I'm glad I only wasted $33 on this. I would not recommend buying this.

Setup in Windows 10 was a breeze: just plugged the stick in; twenty seconds later it was all set and ready. No special drivers were required, it was a true plug and play experience. The connection speed is fantastic. It easily saturated my 100 mbit/s internet connection. I highly recommend this adapter for anyone looking for a fast USB 3.0 Wi-Fi adapter.UPDATE: For even better connectivity, be sure to download the latest drivers from Realtek for 8812AU chip. Then go to Windows Device Manager, and turn on beam forming in advanced device settings: BeamCap -> VHT BEAM RX|TX & HT BEAM RX|TX. This thing rocks.

I have an older Gateway laptop that I still use around the house, but it's wireless adapter quit working a while ago. Instead of going to a repair guy and spending $150 on an old machine, I tried this instead. It works great; just had to plug it in and Windows 7 got it working without me having to install any drivers. In my house I have a Ubiquity UniFi long range wireless access point, and with this wi-fi adapter in my Gateway I can get a 5-bar signal anywhere in my house and outside within about 75' of the house.

1 week in and so far so good. outstanding performance 3 rooms away (50ft) from router. WPS made setup take a few seconds. My only complaint is this thing is massive. not sure why I needed the "extra-tough" look? would rather have as much space as possible, as USB 3.0 space is at a premium (1060GPX 3 ports all jammed together WHY?!?!?!?). Other than that, its amazingly simple and fast. Have tried and returned 3 other products before this, and this has so far been far superior.

My wifi went out on my Dell computer....I thought it was the router but soon figured it out.....I plugged this in...popped in the CD. ...followed the instructions and Bingo... WiFi restored and better than I had before.....The other adapters I had bought did not have the power to do anything.....this one is great.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium running on an old HP Desktop with a AMD Phenom II Processor. A couple of years ago I set up this PC with a solid state drive which really helped it speed. This was another mega upgrade. A little about our home set up. I subscribe to comcast xfinity for broadband and have an Netgear Nighthawk router. This device allowed me two have two simultaneous wifi connections: 2.4 and 5.8. This allows streaming services work flawlessly.

Was alright for a couple months, steadily >100MBit, then no matter what I do it's at a constant 1Mbit. Went back to my old N and get much more reliable speeds.

Buy again
