With tight muscles mid-back, the ball can be placed between my back and a chair back and I just move back and forth while the ball "massages" the muscle. After 20 minutes, the pain in my mid-back was gone and didn't come back for 2 days. This is a far better solution than using Ibuprophen constantly.
