Superb knives!!
I originally got a set of Yoshi ceramic knives as a free gift when I ordered steaks from one of those online meat places. I liked them so much that I bought this set as a gift for friends. These knives are incredible...they easily slice right through things my Cuisinart steel blades just bounce off of. They cut right through the plastic on hard salami and make paper thin slices. They handle tomatoes with the skin still on with ease. I use them every single day and they are my go-to knives. I've had mine for about two years, and the very tip point has broken off of the chef's knife. My fault because I tried to pry something open with it. Unlike steel knives the blades are somewhat fragile as they are ceramic. The thing is, having the very tip missing hasn't impeded my use at all. Frankly I don't even notice it. And anyway, this set comes with blade covers (my set from the steak company did not). The peelers are also amazing, and can do anything from carrots to tomatoes to kiwi. I bought this set for a friend because she was so impressed using mine. She was delighted with receiving them. The only thing we can't quite figure out is why there are Two peelers? Well, these are just superb knives, and if you're waffling on buying them, let me assure you that you will not be disappointed.

cheap, lasting, or sharp pick two.
Cannot beat the price. Wish they were dishwasher safe. Good sharpness to them.

DULL & INFERIOR DESIGN FOR CHOPPING
While this is a great deal for 8 pieces - I was not impressed with the final product. The medium and smaller paring knives are adequate, but the peelers were dull and dangerous. The Chef knife is semi sharp and INFERIORLY DESIGNED for copping - the plastic handle drops below the blade preventing the knife base blade from reaching the cutting board. We'll be sending them back.

Dull and disappointing.
We were very excited to have our own set of ceramic knives as we've heard great things about how sharp they and how well they cut. When we opened them and tried them, we were very disappointed in how dull they were. I have a santoku knife that's about 5 years old and used constantly, and that knife was still sharper than these. We've given up on ceramic knives. We bought some Pure Komachi HD knives recently that are amazing and I would suggest people look at them instead. Cheaper and way better. We received these as a present for our wedding. We didn't realize that the return date was in the middle of our honeymoon, so now we can't return them.

disappointed. this was actually two sets of 3 knives. the original yoshi and two smaller ones. I was hoping for a longer knife. Don't bother. Just buy original yoshi. It's wonderful

Yoshi blades are so awsome
They are really fragile so dont throw them in to the sink and forget about them or pile dishes on top of them bc they will chip but my mother in law has these I use them and I bought my mom the set for mothers day. There just good quality inexpensive knives. LOVE THEM!

lots of sharp knives for the $$$
I have used Yoshi blades at other people's homes, and am a fan. I decided to buy this big assortment, and use them as stocking stuffers. I did give one to my elderly mom who always complains of not having a sharp knife, and she used it while I was visiting and loved it! I think all my warnings about the danger of it being so sharp scared her however, because she now has it "put away". The everyday cutting board is glass too so that may be part of it. I don't think I would leave the very old or young unsupervised with one. You do have to use caution about the surface you use it on and how you use it. I know people who have had theirs multiple years and true to advertising, they are still very sharp. I wonder if they are all created equally however, as one of the larger ones in this package which I kept for myself, seems less sharp? I am not impressed with the peelers. They don't seem any better than the metal type, and in truth, mine clogs up quicker because it doesn't seem as free moving. This was a nice value compared to purchasing the 2 pack. It was a bit over-packaged if you are environmentally consious.

sharp but fragile
The blades are very sharp, but they are fragile. The large chefs knife got a chip in the blade the first time we used it. Then I had to worry where the chip went! I looked at the warranty and it said that for $9.99 shipping and handling, I can send it back, but honestly the whole set cost $28, I don't want to spend any more money on it.
