## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can I flatten a spoon with this?**
A: Not unless you use it as a hammer. 
Really though, it's not the right tool for that.  A press of some sort is what you'd need.  Something like an Arbour press or even a flat face vice should flatten most spoons easily enough.

**Q: How accurate and smooth will this cut .031 or .060 FR4 circuit board? I need cuts to be very accurate, straight and smooth to make project boxes with.**
A: I have made some very nice boxes out of .060" FR4. The end stop (fence) is a bit fiddly to adjust as "Verified Purchase" says in his review, but once it is set you can make straight, repetitive cuts the same size every time. Trying to cut to a scribed line without the end stop will not be so accurate. Cuts are not perfectly smooth but a couple of passes with a sanding block takes care of that. Way better than tin snips or scribe-and-snap!

**Q: Can you make a bend a piece of trim over 7 1/2 inches.  Can you move the metal a little at a time to make a 90 degree bend longer than 7 1/2 inches**
A: Never tried, but I doubt it based on the way the frame is set up.

**Q: can this cut & bend 1/16" brass?**
A: Absolutely.  The shear on this little guy works great.  Ive cut 0.03 inch (up to 0.05) brass strips very accurately into narrow pieces.

The units sold on Micromark web site are nicer, this discount price got me a unit that had cracks in the casting. Because I didnt open rite away I was not able to return. Even with crack in base unit works well.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Good brake, Minor Usability Changes Needed

Best packed of any heavy item like this that I've ever received. It arrived in good conditon, as if I'd picked it up at a depot myself. Works very well for what I use it for. I give 3 stars because the fence design is a pan to work with, could have been done a lot better; and frankly, they need to extend the crank shaft out both ends of the device, and drill it on both ends so you can use the handle on either end. Being right handed, I would prefer to hold my work with my right hand, and do less-precision movement (cranking the lever) with my left-hand. The fence is a pain to use-- because of the differing direction of threading on the screws you tighten to hold each end of it in place, one pushes the fence out, and the other pushes the fence in-- very, very hard to get it actually perfectly parallel to the cutting edge. Would have been much better to make the two rods that hold the fence, threaded, and then simply screw a nut on each end-- infinite accuracy, so when the nut is where you want it, the fence would be perfect.
