Did what the instructions told me to do. Dog laughed and barked even more like I didn't exist. The whistle isn't "silent" like I imagined a dog whistle to be, so the noise in the yard was doubled as the dog barked and I blew into this while my wife laughed at me. Maybe it works on some dogs or while used by someone with larger lungs, but for my family this was a waste of money.We are going to use the command, "Want a treat?" Yes, we'll have a fat dog, but she'll be a quiet one!

It helped us.
Our dogs were getting so bad about barking at EVERYTHING!! I'll confess we were almost to the point at looking at the barking deterrent collars (NOT the shock ones though). I saw this and gave it a try. It has helped, a lot. It doesn't seem to hurt in any way, it just gets their attention, and a good 'ol fashioned head tilt. We give a verbal command first, then if they keep barking they get a click, and if all that fails, the whistle. Though it's gotten to the point we don't even need it, or just picking it up gets their attention.

NO adjustment instructions.
Most of the comments said that the whistle could be adjusted but there were no instructions on how to do it and since I can't hear it how do I know.

Not what I expected
It isn't silent. Although advertised as "adjustable", there were no directions included indicating how to adjust -- or what the adjustment did.

Cannot be adjusted
No directions on how to make the whistle silent. Kept turning and turning the "nut" but it doesn't change sound. It stated that could be any range from loud to silent Very annoying to anyone near.

Useless
What a waste of money. I received the whistle, and when blowing on it, it just sputters out the hole in the side. Dogs do not respond to this.

Dog whistle blues
The whistle worked so fast it surprised me. Just one short turn and he puts his attention on me and not what he was barking at.

No explanation on how to adjust, does not have ...
No explanation on how to adjust, does not have any effect on my dog, works sometimes when meeting other dogs.
