## Description

A unique barrel dampener, the LimbSaver Sharpshooter X-Ring helps to improve your accuracy while also dampening barrel whip. It's available in two options -- one for standard barrels and one for bull barrels. The Sharpshooter X-Ring delivers sub minute-of-angle groups, even with over the counter ammunition. Made from LimbSaver's proprietary NAVCOM technology (Noise and Vibration Control Material), the Sharpshooter X-Ring tunes the vibration waves that affect shot grouping. Each of these individual waves negatively affects the barrel and the Sharpshooter X-Ring is specifically designed to control them. By reducing this energy and tuning the dampening characteristics to a specific location on the barrel, you can consistently control muzzle movement during lock-up time, which translates to greater accuracy. Used by a wide range of sportsmen, competition shooters, military, and law enforcement, the Sharpshooter X-Ring is durably built to be used outdoors in harsh environments. The standard size model fits barrels with 1/2- to 7/8-inch diameters, and the bull barrel size model fits barrels with 3/4- to 1-1/8-inch diameters. The bull barrel model also works on scoped slug shotguns.Using state-of-the-art technologies, LimbSaver produces highly effective noise- and vibration-dampening products for archery and firearm products, including bow stabilizers, recoil pads, rifle slings, and more. Proudly engineered and hand-made in the USA, LimbSaver products are widely used by outdoor enthusiasts, military, law enforcement, and more.

Review: It works and it's cheap, do it - Using on a Weatherby Vanguard SSR .30-06 Springfield. It's a tight squeeze to get on even with lube, looks goofy and will certainly get you a question on what it is. It does work well though. This target is 2 shots from myself and two from a buddy. 3 shots are Hornady whitetail 150gr, one shot was with a Hornady Superformance 180gr. Bought one for my cousin to use on his Savage Axis .308 but haven't had a chance to use it yet.
Review: Couldn't believe it but it's true - For background: I own a 1987 Browning BAR in 7mm Remington Mag (No Boss on these years). I have done a TON of research and reading on reloading for long range accuracy. I have been handloading for a couple years (not an expert, but I know a good bit). I have tried many many loads for my BAR trying to get sub MOA (1" at 100 yards) and I could never get it to pattern like I wanted. It would be ~1.5" - 5" depending on load. For those into reloading: I've measured lengths and tried different offsets, different powders, etc etc. This last weekend I shot my Sierra gameking 160's with H4831 - 2-3" pattern from a rest at 105 yards. I slide on the Limbsaver to the suggest location (just forward of my stock), put it on the rest and fired 3 shots: <1" (maybe 0.9"). I let my barrel cool and fired 2 shots 4 minutes apart (to cool the BAR) - the holes were touching. Completely blown away - but it worked for me. My BAR is a sub MOA! NOW: as a reloader I know that maybe I never found my sweet spot for my gun, so if you are putting in <1" pattern already, this is not going to do it. But if you are having poor results (and you know it's not you, the load, the scope) then give it a try for so little $ invested. If it doesn't work return it. Update April 2015: I'm glad this has been helpful to people! I wanted to provide an update from my original review. I have had this on the rifle for at while now and with it in the same place as noted above I consistently shoot tight groups (Tight to me with a BAR is <1" at 100 or 1 MOA). I have even thrown different hand loads through it in quick succession (The bar is sensitive to heat) and it continues to perform! Love it. I was going to drop $800 plus on a bolt action rifle to get better accuracy, but I'm loving the bar now!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why is the black one so much bigger then the white one?**
A: You can order this items in different sizes depending your barrel, it can be regular barrel or bull barrel... I hope this answers your question.

**Q: It looks like it would block the sight track of open sights Has anyone used this on a rifle with open sights, like my Marlin 1895 45-70?**
A: No, Its will not work

**Q: Where does best position seem to be on this product? I think I will give them a try. Thanks.**
A: I have had the best luck splitting the difference from the end of the barrel to the end to the end of the forearm that's that's where I started on my rifle and that's where they stayed on both of my rifles but remember all rifles are different

**Q: Will this harm the bluing?**
A: No, it shouldn't harm the blueing if you selected the proper size and follow the installation instructions.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty decent
*by W***L on May 13, 2025*

Had an old rifle I acquired from a pawn shop. Couldn’t get it to group and threw one on. It brought 5 shot groups from a little over 3 inches down to about 1.5-1.75 with the same ammo. Not great but certainly an improvement. Looks goofy though
