I bought this for under my desk for ambient lighting, and I love this.I purchased the 20 inch one as a test to see if I liked it and I can say that I am looking forward to getting the 40-inch one as well.The USB cord is short, but I worked around it by using a USB switch double sided taped under my desk connected to my PC.The colors are bright and vivid, although I have reason to believe I received a faulty remote control. The yellow is green.The four settings, FLASH, STROBE, FADE, and SMOOTH, are a bit off. STROBE is SMOOTH and SMOOTH is STROBE. Also, there doesn't seem to be a big difference between FLASH and STROBE/SMOOTH or FADE and SMOOTH/STROBE other than FADE being very slightly slower than SMOOTH/STROBE.There is a female port on the end of the light strip that allows you to connect a second light strip to it which I find ingenious.

The 20 inch 5V light strip w/IR remote - the strip is what I needed. The remote is junk - it looks well made, but the battery was DOA. Upon replacing the battery, I found 3/4 of the buttons do not work and some that work don't do what they are labeled (colors). ON/OFF, brightness, flash, Strobe, and most color buttons are dead. Red, Green, Blue, White seem to be the only ones that work. Since that is all I really need for the purpose I ordered it for, I am not sending it back.

Don't bother to waste your money on this. I received a defective piece, where all of the LED lights do work, but they are not properly programed with its remote. For example, you press "yellow" light button on the remote, and the LED strip will be lit up Red. These work as advertised. They go from a nice glow, all the way to almost blinding bright.I used them in my PC for awhile, but moved them to the back of my TV soon after.The adhesive could be a little better, but with a couple of pieces of clear tape, they do stay put. My only real complaint is that it is supposed to be RGB, Red looks good, and the different shades of Blue, and purple are nice, but Green is lacking. Most of the "Green" colors are more yellow than green.

The light itself is OK. Color rendering for some colors are terrible. Purple is blue, pink is purple, etc. RF remote works well for my application behind TV.and I can find a color that works OK, even if it doesn't match what the remote says.Worst part of this is the glue on the back. It does not stick to onto anything more than a couple of hours. I have to re-stick it literally every day.

Just Horrible. Came in a very unprofessional package, which already gave me a bad feeling about this. Stuck the lights behind my desk, connected the wires, plugged it into the usb port and... nothing happened. I tried about 50 different ways to maybe get it to work but it didn't. The lights wouldn't turn on. Just cheap, cheap lights. Don't buy these lights. Also it said it would take 2 days to come, but it kept getting more delayed and delayed, so I was waiting on this for about a week, and finally when I get it here it does not even work. Very disappointed. Will be buying lights from a different brand, and hoping to return this. Horrible Product.

The lights give off a strong bright color, was definitely a fan of that, but the app doesn't work, which is the main reason I bought these opposed to the competition, additionally, I can't change one set of the lights without affecting all the lights in the room, I have to unplug them all if I only want to change one sets color.

I found this to be a great accent for my televisions and very useful as an aux light for working in the evening in low light. For the 4th of July, I paired this with a usb charger for my phone and it worked perfectly. For the price, it's a definite buy.
