This was a text book for my college course
I had to purchase this book for a special ed class I was taking. It was about the various disabilities and the law. It is a great book. I like that it is loose leaf. I could easily put it into a binder for easier reading. It also came with a website code for pearson. It gives you 90 days. Its just the online version. I prefer reading an actual book as opposed to reading on a computer screen, but its helpful if your traveling and don't want to lug books with you. After the 90 days you can purchase more time. It was very informative, and had lots of real stories to relate the information too. I would recommend it.

Good text, bad fit for the course I took.
This was required text for a 300-level Special Ed education course I took, and feel like the instructor wasted my money. While this text is a good introduction which does an excellent job of presenting historical context and legal changes in special education, if you're looking at it for use in a 300-level, 400-level or PACE course, it isn't a good fit for that.If you're looking for info on how to:-identify and document a student's need for an educational intervention in the "mainstream" classroom,-select the most appropriate research-based intervention according to that student's need,-deliver the prescribed interventions in the mainstream classroom,-document the results of interventions provided,-participate in IEP or 504 plan team meetings and parent conferences should the interventions provided prove inadequate to meet the student's need, or-how to write an IEP or 504 plan as a Spec Ed teacher, this isn't the text for you. This text also does not discuss how to keep those students who learn easily from becoming disengaged when the instructional pace is too slow for them.

Helpful so far!
I'm getting a lot out of this book for my college class so far. Not too dry of a style or too wordy. Combined with an excellent teacher, this is proving to be interesting and helpful.

Disappointed with the print
This is an excellent book but I am disappointed with the product I received. I bought the loose leaf version and it looks like a cheap black and white photocopy. The print is horrible. I really do not know how I could read this. I do not think that I got value for money.

The book is not on the Pearson webpage
I’m very dissapointed. I received an access code for an eText book “Exceptional learners” An introduction to special education, 13e by Hallahan, Kauffman and Pullen. The book is not on the Pearson eText list. Please explain
