Audio cable with volume control 4.3ft for PS4 Controller, Headphones Black

This cord and mic works perfectly with my Xbox One X Controller & Sony XM3 Headphones. I was on the fence about just buying a designated Xbox headset but just spent $350 on new Sony 1000 XM3 noise cancelling headphones because I travel a lot for work. This cord adds a mic and manual volume control to headphones. The sound clarity is great, and the mic sensitivity and quality is surprisingly not bad (voice is very clear, I tested by using in-game and listening to recorded messages)! The braided material prevents tangling or knotting the cord as well. This cord saved me $80-100 that I was going to spend on a dedicated headset, now I have the most comfortable and high-quality listening experience ever! I will update on the longevity and build quality after a few months, honestly, if I had to replace this a few times a year I wouldn't be upset assuming the price stays low. As of now the design and construction seem to be high quality!

So I have a second gen PS4 (the one with all matte coverings) and always have it updated to the latest firmware. After getting sick and tired of not finding a headset setup I liked with the features I needed, I decided to try to use my Beats Headphones that I've had forever as a suitable solution to hear quality in-game audio, and also have quality microphone input. The Beats I have in the picture are Beats Solo Wireless 2, and let me tell you that these work FLAWLESSLY for my purposes. Plug the control end into the headphones, and the other end into the controller, and you're absolutely all set up to hear the audio through your headphones, and speak through the inline mic PERFECTLY (my friends online even said it was better than some of the other official headsets I tried!) As a secret feature I had the pleasure of discovering, using the cable with the mic muted is also super easy! Just hold down the control button the whole time you're plugging in the controller end, and voila! You're using the cable with the mic muted! To enable the mic again, just unplug it and plug it back in without holding the button and you're back in the chat :) This is exactly what I needed and has exceeded my expectations; the only thing I could possibly ask for would be a dedicated mute button, but this method is so quick and easy it may not even be relevant anymore. I bought this cable to pair with my Beats headphones so I could use them for gaming since what I read online about the bets cable is it isn't compatible with Xbox One controller due to protocols within the mic. I am pleased that the cord does work and allows me to use my Beats headphones and mic plugged into my second gen controller. The cord came in good packaging and feels really nice and of high quality. Unfortunately, there is somewhat of a rattle in the mic portion and it can be quite irritating. Overall it works and does what I need it to do. It would be nice if the quality was as nice as what it looks. I'm not sure there is a better cord out there for $9 though. We will see how it holds up in the long run.

The cable works great, no static when moving or turning the connections. The microphone quality is superb as well, I tested it by voice recording on my computer and playing it back, the mic had no problems picking up my voice clearly and distinctly. I'll be using this when on xbox LIVE parties. The cable itself is a braided material that feels pretty good, the connection ends are a hard but soft feeling rubber plastic. The microphone casing is a smoother plastic that is not rubberized. The button for play\pause is clicky and responsive without requiring too much pressure. The volume slider glides up or down smoothly and the volume dropoff is smooth and not staggered. The cable is pretty straight and doesn't curl up on itself and the length is perfect. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were two items in my order (2x items per order), I just hadn't noticed it was two cables per order.

It is a good wire, shoelace like and doesn't get janky. The mic works okay and the play/pause button and all of its functions work. Only problem is with the volume control. It uses a method that doesn't work quite right and changes your volume separately inside the wire. That can cause your headphones to sound louder in the earcup that this wire plugs into if you do not have the volume turned up on the wire. No company on Amazon sells a better wire though that has inline controls that actually control your phone's volume correctly to my knowledge. This is your best bet.

works well to adapt a set of Phillips SHP9500 headphones to use as a headset with my PS4. I've been told that my voice is clear in game so the mic must be ok. I like that the in line volume control is likely a potentiometer so it can adjust without interaction with the PS4 controller software. I've only had it for a few days so no comment on durability, but construction seems good for the price.

This cable in the picture above was what I bought last January. I used it almost every day from then till now, and today, it stopped working. It worked until last night but now the audio doesn't pass through it anymore. I doubted my headphones at first but my other 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable proved otherwise. It is BROKEN. I can't hear anything through it anymore. Most of the reviews here talk about how the product is right after they receive it. Not many people talk about how how it aged. If anyone wants something that lasts for a long time, look elsewhere because I can assure you, from my experience and from some of the others I didn't heed, this will not last for even a year. I will NOT recommend anyone to buy this. I deeply regret spending my money on this. And just to be clear, I'm someone who takes good care of my things....I doubt anyone can get it to work over the 10 month mark.

I have to say I'm impressed with the sound quality and over all build quality. The volume slider works well along with the built in microphone. They work well with my v-moda xs headphones and sound better than the original cable .I just have one nit picky thing is that its just a bit snug fitting into the headset but nothing to cry about I'll buy these again for sure. *UPDATE* 9 months and i have a short in the wire ,no worries i bought the 2 pack! and I use headphone jack extensions to help from the jack bending and causing a premature / unnecessary short also, I'm a bit rough with these wires at times so I'm very surprised they have held up to my wear and tare so far and buying another 2 pack to replenish my back up .

Bought this as an alternative for my VMODA headphones that had a bright orange wire, pros: mic is well placed and very clear meaning can be used on consoles volume and sound controls work and allow easy one-handed controls would reccomend

Very disappointed with this product. I have a pair of good headphones but needed to swap out the cable for one with a microphone. I did not expect high quality, although this was one of the only products of its type I could find online or in stores. The package arrived early. The first cable only worked on one channel. The second cable did not work at all. Mind you, my headphones work with every other cable I own, so it is not the fault of the headphones. It would be best to avoid this product altogether. I am waiting to hear from the seller about a refund.
