This piece is based on the "New American Standard" version of the Bible, and is from "Psalm 119:105", found in the Old Testament. The selection begins with: "Thy Word is a lamp to my feet..." and was written by David (and several others). Among the books of the Bible, Psalms is considered to be one of poetry.
