Works perfectly to replace light assembly in Panasonic microwave model NN-H965WFX
Better price than other retailers for an exact fit for my older Panasonic microwave model NN-H965WFX. This was not shown as a compatible model if item description. The microwave cover needed a special Torx head #20 security bit (also available on Amazon), but after that the change-out was a breeze.

Nice and Bright - Perfect Fit for my older Panasonic microwave
My Panasonic Microwave oven Model NN-SD987S, Made in Feb 2015 - first had the interior light go out. Then, for awhile it went back on for a month or two of normal use (weird). Then, it finally burned out completely. In checking around locally (with places like Batteries Plus and various appliance repair shops) nothing for a bulb could be found. So - I went to Amazon. The first bulb I tried for a home repair was an aftermarket one (cheaper) and although it worked - it was very dim and poor. Today I installed this new one and it works great. Nice and bright. If you take on this swap-out yourself (it's pretty easy) there are some helpful videos on YouTube but I can share the two biggest points I found. 1). The microwave cover screws along the side are standard Phillips but the remaining screws along the back are special security-bit screws. You will need to buy a set of those sets to get that correct fit as a normal Phillips won't work. I had bought - a long time ago - one of those unique sets of bits at Menards and was glad I had them when I now needed them. 2). When you go to the slide the spades off of the old bulb it might be tempting to simply try and pull hard but there is a trick you should know. Inserting a small paperclip in the hole on the spade will free the connector to EASILY slide-off. It's a wire retention feature many simply don't realize exists.

Did the job.
Don't go by the image!! I nearly didn't buy it because of the image. So thank you to the reviewers who pointed out that it IS the right part for the microwave. 4 stars to indicate it did the job, and because this was the best price for the item that I found [when you add in shipping] - not for anything else about it! I can't bring myself to give it 5 stars because of the whole idea of needing to get hold of some highly specialized fitting for something as basic as replacing a light bulb. It's a crazy amount to charge for an item that probably costs less than a couple of dollars to produce. I think it's all part of the racket around making repair versus replace as difficult and annoying as possible. Starting with making a microwave light bulb not accessible for replacement without dismantling the exterior casing. Why not make a removable screen panel in the interior - and make the replacement a standard appliance light bulb you can buy at any old hardware store, not a specialized fitting which has the bulb fused into a plastic housing so you have to replace that entire unit?? I'm guessing for the same reason Panasonic decided to make the screws you have to remove to get the outer casing off the microwave to get at their one-of-a-kind light-fitting, ones that no standard screwdriver head will work with. At least the ones on mine weren't. Also, be warned: it did take an unexpectedly long time to arrive. But since most of us aren't lucky enough to have a local electrical supplier who stocks it, I guess that's just one more piece designed to push us consumers toward saying, Oh what the heck, I'll just buy another microwave.

EXACT REPLACEMENT FOR GE PROFILE MICROWAVE OVEN LIGHT BULB. WORKS PERFECTLY!
If you need to replace a lightbulb in a GE Profile microwave and are wondering if this bulb from Panasonic works or not, you can put your mind at ease, this bulb is an exact replacement bulb which GE discontinued. After searching the web extensively, I realized that the GE bulbs are no longer available (discontinued) and was surprised to see a couple people selling USED bulbs from dismantled GE microwaves for $13.00. For a USED BULB! I'm not sure who's crazier, the person selling a used lightbulb or the guy who buys it. Either way, I was able to cross reference the obsolete GE bulb and it came up with this Panasonic. It has the correct terminals for the plug-in wire connectors. Bulb fits and works perfectly. One note for GE Profile Microwave owners....replacing the bulb is somewhat of a pain in the butt. There is not an access panel for bulb replacement, so you must remove the microwave cover/case to gain access to the bulb. You'll need a Phillips screwdriver and a Torx 25. Total time to replace the bulb should take around 15-20 minutes. Check out Youtube for a helpful video on step by step procedures.

Perfect fix for my Panasonic NN-H965WFX
It took me literally less than 3 minutes to remove the m/w cover, replace the bulb, replace the m/w cover and plug it back in. Be advised that the two wires have a tiny tab at the top end of the metal spade that connects to the metal tabs on the bulb fixture. These tiny tabs must be pressed down to enable release of the wires from the bulb fixture tabs. It is really easy to do but the tiny tabs are almost impossible to see. Just know that these wonโt come off of the posts (tabs) of the bulb fixture if the tiny tabs on the wires are not pressed down. Perfect product. Easy to install. Go for it.

The Easy Button!
My old bulb was on again off again, making it hard to opt for a replacement. Once decided there was no turning back. The microwave light was working just fine again by the time the replacement arrived, but within 15 minutes I had the microwave on a table for cover disassembly. DANG! Special Torx Hex tool required for the few screws! Trip to Home Depot. $11 and an hour later the bulb had been replaced. It has worked flawlessly since. I think itโs a good product. Avoiding an appliance service call saved me at least $100 - well worth the effort.
