good knife you wont be dissapointed.
Really nice looking and very sharp knife. This knife is beautifu, and it seems to be very durable and very well built. There are SOOOO many of these Damascus stell knives out there right now, its like the new thing, but this one is a pretty safe bet.So one issue I had is that I ordered this knife and actually was delivered the Santoku knife. I contacted the manufacturer cause I didn't want the same issue to happen again, and I did have some concerns because there is or was some inconsistencies in the desctiption of this listing. some details describe the santoku knife including one of the pictures in the description being of the santoku.Anyway, they were very helpful and friendly, obviously the issue of getting the wrong one was on Amazon since that's who fulfills the orders, and when I placed the second order (after getting my return money back) I did get the right knife (this 8" chef knife) on the second attempt. So be sure you get the right knife. I know that some people don't know the difference between a Santoku and a chef knife, but there is a big difference, and I would think that most people willing to spend this much on a knife would know or at least double check what they got.I would buy this knife again, and I might go a head and get one of their Santoku knives in the future, but like I said it is the chef knife I need right now.All of this being said, if budget isn't as big of a deal to you, like if you have $130 or less to spend then I would still go with either a Dalstrong or a Shun as those are both much better "brands" and you know for sure you are getting a quality product. This knife seems pretty good at first few uses here, but I'm not 100% confident in its longevity, and I also don't really know that its not just mass manufactured and stamped fo this brand, and really just the exact same knife as the other hoards of $60-$90 knives on Amazon. As a side note, I am a trained cook and do run my own catering business. I have many other knives and this is easily my new favorite

Excellent Chef's knife with outstanding looks for a very reasonable price - the most useful tool in the kitchen
I bought this knife to replace my old one which has seen one too many drops. It looked great in the pictures and priced very reasonably compared to similar products. I'm very very happy with my choice. This is a great forged knife with a German profile which is my favorite kind and, in my opinion, the most useful for most kitchen tasks. It has a nice sturdy bolster which gives it a good balanced feel when you hold it. It's about 1oz. lighter than my old knife which requires slightly more force when cutting hard vegetables, but on the other hand it's less tiring to the arm when chopping ingredients for 3 different salads for a 20 person brunch ;)It came out of the box extremely sharp and after a while, when a tomato started giving me grief, I ran the knife a few times on a honer and it was back to slicing with no effort. You definitely want to be careful with this blade, for its sake and yours. The original box will do the job but if you want something less bulky I recommend the Messermeister Edge-guard Messermeister Chef's Edge-Guard, 8-Inch .Last but not least, the knife is beautiful. The handle is nicely decorated but the steel of the blade is what really sticks out. My old knife had plain looks and I just kept it in the drawer, but now that I have this beauty I'm thinking of getting one of these magnetic strips you put on the wall and make the knife part of the kitchen decor. Maybe I'll add the 7" Japanese profile knife to make a set. Santoku Knife - Japanese Sushi Chef Knife 7 inch - VG10 Damascus with Case - TOKAGEH Classic Series

Awesome, top-notch, proffessional knife
The media could not be loaded. This knife is just incredible. It is super sharp, smooth, feels good in the hand, good grip, top notch quality,-Utility: it cuts everything I tried, from tomatoes and greens to bread, with such ease and smoothness that I barely have to even put any weight on it. It seriously makes cutting anything like cutting butter (that was left in the sun).-Build : it is top quality. the sharp side is incredibly thin and sharpened, really the best quality there is.-Grisp: is very good. The handle has a good grasp and the weight is just a bit heavy to feel the knife but not too heavy at all. I feel like a chef with magic powers-Looks: I really love the pattern on the knife, it's much more delicate and subtle than it seems here on Amazon - which is great; it's not too much, but it is something special.- overall: makes me want to cook much more.Cons: it's not cheap. but if you can afford it, go for it.

Excellent and beautiful knife
This is the second of these I have purchased as gifts and I have handled and used the first one at my buddies house. I may have to gift myself one soon! Let me tell you, it makes an impressive moment when the case is opened. The knife is really beautiful and the presentation case is very detailed, it just looks expensive. In the kitchen, I found the knife exceptionally well balanced and the handle indexes the blade very well. The damascus layers are clearly visible and the edge is very sharp. Given the G-10 handle and the stainless blade, this beautiful blade is not just a "wall hanger", it becomes a daily favorite that will stand up to normal use. Highly recommended.

The media could not be loaded. This knife will change your life. My old knife is not good now, so I decided to buy a new one. I compared lots of kitchen knife and then chooseGyutou Chef Knife. I would like to get a knife that starts out sharp and ends up sharp along with looking good and feeling good in my hand.Gyutou Chef Knife is the one I want.It feels good in my hand while I'm cutting food. The handle is good and it's comfortable to hold. The knife is not heavy but very sharp. The knife looks good, simple but classic. I actually enjoy using this knife. It’s sharp and light. I took some pictures when I am cutting meat and vegetables. Recommend.
