Quickly measure the hardness of your water to prevent mineral buildup that may trap in soil and bacteria. What is that good for logos (best used for to analyze water quality in pools, aquariums, homes, industrial processes, educational experiments, and for homeland security applications.) Note 1. Insert the reactive part of test strip into the test liquid for 2 seconds, then, take out the test strip. 2. Wait for 30 seconds and then compare with standard color chart to get the test result. 3. Cover the lid immediately after getting out the needed test paper. 4. Do not touch the reactive part of the test paper by bare hand. 5. Store in cool and low relative humidity place.

Works but the indicator color range is very slight and hard to read. A wider color range would be helpful for most.

Did not function as advertised; better options available.
To calibrate a new water softener, I purchased the MHT Total Water Hardness Test Strips and, for comparison, the Industrial Test Systems WaterWorks Total Hardness Test Strips. The MHT strips were either defective or are useless. First, the method of reading hardness requires comparing the range of colors on the test strip to the colors on the label of the bottle. The MHT colors are very close to each other, and if the test strips had actually shown any color change, it would have been difficult to match with a specific color on the bottle. In my case, it did not matter. In both very hard and very soft water the test strips showed the identical dark green color - essentially not discriminating between either sample. On the other hand, the Industrial Test Systems WaterWorks Total Hardness Test Strips worked very well. The range of colors available for comparison on the bottle is quite broad, and makes it easy to distinguish one shade from the next. Further, in my case the test strip used in the hard water sample showed a dramatically different result than the strip used in the soft sample, illustrating both that my water softener was working, and that the Industrial Test Systems test strips were performing as advertised.

Not possible to use these
We purchased these to test the hardness of our water. The chart on the container showed colors in burgundy shades. We tested with three strips. They all showed a grayish green color, not on the color chart on the bottle. I have read some recent reviews with the same issue. Perhaps there is a bad batch of these being sent out. We did test two different sources of water (one bottled Ice Mountain and one from well water). The color was very similar in both tests (unlikely) and did not match those on the bottle. We returned them and got our money back.

defective, did not work AT ALL
always shows my water has no hardness, even though it does (according to a professional water testing lab I sent samples to for a different reason). So, after much frustration I had to buy different test strips and throw these out. VERY annoying, dont waste your time. I tried various things just to be sure, and I am sure, in the entire sealed container of these I recieved they were all defective. of course it took me longer than 30 days to figure that out so this company got my money ans gave me nothing but trouble in return. You have been warned.

Waste of time and money
What a waste of time and money. I bought these test strips so I could calculate my water softener. over a three week time period, every other day, the color on the test strip never changed color, just stayed a dark greenish hue. Tried sending an email to the address on the bottom of the product box but it was returned as a non-working URL. Save your time and purchase a product that actually works.

Try and tested
This test divests are so utilizable in testing the nature of dihydrogen monoxide keeping in mind the terminus goal to stay away from tainting in each dihydrogen monoxide that we utilize. MHT is genuinely a decent item supplier. One proof is this dihydrogen monoxide hardness test divests. I'm probing for their different items for me to endeavor it.
