The PPE Race Fuel Valve (heat treated stainless steel construction) replaces stock or a shimmed pressure relief valve. This valve helps maintain fuel rail pressure during high engine load conditions by completely blocking the pressure relief port (effectively eliminating fuel return to the fuel tank). It eliminates potential low fuel rail pressure DTC codes P1093 or P0087 (low fuel rail pressure during power enrichment) that are caused by insufficient PRV spring pressure.

Happy so far!
Installed on a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Duramax. PPE delivers a fantastic product. Install was a breeze, about fifteen minutes. Tighten to 75 ft lbs. Make sure your engine is cold, I have heard of people stripping out the factory valve upon removal. I have attached my factory part next to the PPE plug. I swapped my factory valve out because my truck ran terrible while pulling my fifth wheel trailer (28FT) and 7400lbs empty. The truck had zero power pulling, so hopefully it was a fuel rail pressure problem. Otherwise I’m back at square one. Make sure to prime your fuel system after install. PPE including fantastic instructions if you’re not sure what you’re doing.

Easy 30-45 minute fix for diesel P0087 CEL code
I replaced my OEM high pressure side regulator valve on my 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 6.6 LBZ. This is the first time replacing this and it took me 50 minutes from the time I turned the truck off until the time I re-started the truck. Now that I've done this, I'm certain I could do this in 30 minutes. The hardest part was pulling the retainer clip back to relase the large relay on the glow plug controller. I was afraid it was going to snap off, so I was overly cautious, which wasted time.

Race Plug NOT Race Valve
The item was a race fuel plug NOT a race fuel valve. I used it because it was all that I had. I did not contact the seller because I used the plug and figured I could not return the plug after it was used.

Was loosing rail pressure but not any more!
Once I got the old relief valve out, it was super easy to install. Getting the old one out took part of my soul though. Date code on it suggest it’s been changed before and torqued way higher than my shoulders liked. No issues with product since install.

So glad I replaced my factory plug. It was a pain to replace. Took about 3 hours. Had to do a lot more work then all the videos online. But this plug allows the truck to hold 25,000psi for a pull. So couldn’t be happier.

Great
Works great! Would be a easy swap if it wasn't for the factory one being so damn tight. I went out and the earthquake xt stubby impact from harbor freight to get mine out. Also had to remove the turbo heat shield glow plug module bracket to use impact.
