Excellent performance and value
Excellent unit. I just set it up and have been pleased by its performance. It's a simple, but elegant design that doesn't draw a lot of attention to itself. I have it in my bedroom, which this unit is quite overkill for. But for $40 over the 8K BTU model it offers 50% more cooling capacity, so I can turn it in and off on demand to get the room to my desired temp quickly. The window kit isn't fancy but solid and easily adjusted. The foam kit wasn't fantastic, as it was compressed with elastic bands, so will likely have to change that out. But the unit (like most all portable units) does suck in room air and exhausts it out the window (this is how it cools the condenser) so an ultra tight seal is a bit of a moot point.I also really like the front louvers. They are motorized and close when off and open or swing when on. It's simple but neat. Also the remote is great. It has a backlit display and all the functions can be controlled from it and you can easily see what the current mode and temp is.It's fairly quiet. It moves a lot of air, even at low speeds, but the compressor isn't overly noisy, or the unit "rattly". It's just air sounds.I purchased this 12k unit as well as the 14k unit to place in my living room so my home is cool and comfortable throughout.

Works good
I like it and it is a powerful A/C but I wish the release of the water was not so difficult. The product comes with a tube and I have had it set up to empty in an empty water jug. But if it is really hot and humid this jug will fill up quickly. Meaning it would be difficult to keep running when you are not home or sleeping. I did not purchase it for my bedroom so this is not an issue I have, but I can see where it would be for many others.I have only used it a handful of times so it is still kind of early to determine how great the product is in the long run. Luckily I did get the warranty, just in case.

It's really ~cool~ ....haha..
I had a portable ac that my family had purchased about 3 or 4 years ago. I had to continuously dump the water collected about every three hours at night which made it hard to get sleep. Also, the hose would always detach and fall off of the window piece everytime I had to set it up. I haven't been able to put this product to the real test in terms of water disposal since the brutal new england summer has yet to hit this year, but I am already impressed. The packaging of the product made it easy to open and when you power the unit on or off the part that blows out air has these blade things that open and close. It's like I have my own little robot. I have used it to cool my room only a couple times so far, but I am already impressed. If the unit is not able to keep up with the heat and gives me grief with water disposal in the night I will come back to this review and add more, but if not that means I am still highly satisfied with the product.Update 6/13/17 - The temperatures are in the high 80's to 90's this week and even hit 100° a few times. The fan sometimes now makes a muffled sound like its only blowing air out every few seconds instead of continuous fan like when I first purchased it. I actually got scared thinking that my expensive a/c may have already broke at one point, but then it started to do it less all of a sudden so I was a little relieved. Also it doesn't seem to be keeping up with cooling the room as I would have hoped even when putting it on 68° for a while. Either the product is starting to act up which would explain the non continuous fan here and there and or it is struggling to keep up. Hoping outside temperatures drop and the fan goes back to normal to see if it's just a temperature struggle.Update 10-4-17 the product still makes a muffled fan sound, but when the temperatures started to lower in the summer it had an easier time controlling the room's temp. Works great overall and have no ragrets.

Works Like a Dream
First, this is not my first portable unit. My first was purchased about 8 years ago branded Amcor (apparently no longer made because I would’ve bought another one just like it).I read reviews for this unit where some said the compressor kicking in was loud and it didn’t cool the area it was put in. I have a 10x12 bedroom that this unit is in only. I live in a 100 year old house and the main unit is set on 78 but I like to sleep at about 70. It is perfect!!The compressor, to me, is quiet compared to my other one that I loved. The style is very sleek and modern, there is a “swing” button that allows the little fan things to move up and down to circulate the cool air (wonderful). My other unit had the self-evaporating feature and I never drained it and I don’t anticipate having to do that to this one. It was very easy to install and does exactly what it’s supposed to do.It’s a great price for a piece of equipment that I really enjoy for a good nights sleep.

Super big/heavy, but very cold!
Pretty easy to install, super big and heavy, does take up quite a bit of space. You need 2 people to pick this up unless you're super strong, like ya'll better be careful!! Quality of air is strong an cool. Very cold! Perfect for this past Los Angeles, CA heatwave. I have a small single apartment an this cools it fine. I recommend it, however, idk about durability because I've only had it for 4 months now.

Floor Unit Design Flaws "GO WITH A WINDOW UNIT"
What you need to understand about these units. It puts Good Cold air into your Room, 48 degrees. At the same time it is trying to remove Hot Air through the tubing out the window. So you are getting HOT AND COLD air in your room at the same time.Outside Temp 87 degrees took 12 hours for the room to reach 75 degrees by that time it was 68 degrees outside.I returned the unit replaced with 10,000 BTU window Unit now in the 90's outside and my room cools down to 75 in 1 HourCOMPANY DID TAKE CARE OF MY PROBLEM THANK YOU
