Yowosmart Professional Wireless Pool Thermometer Floating Solar Powered Thermometer for Pool, fishpond

I was able to set up this thermometer up appropriately even though the instructions are poorly written due to an obvious language barrier issue by whoever wrote the instructions. The wifi on the unit works very poorly and only intermittently. The distance from where the receiver unit is to the in-pool unit is about 15 feet. I had much trouble with the monitor (receiver unit) registering the pool temperature at all. I thought it might be a wifi interference issue, so I checked all wifi signals in the area of the units and discovered they there were multiple signals either on channel 1 or channel 6, so I changed the channel on both the transmitter and receiver untis to channel 3 to avoid interference. However, this did not resolve the issue. I even placed the receiver unit about 6 inches above the transmitter that was floating in the pool and after approximately 10 minutes there was still no pool temp registered on the monitor even though I reset the receiver unit. I have a standard wireless thermometer in the same area that works perfectly, so I know it has to be the pool thermometer that doesn't work as advertised. Basically this is a piece of junk. It works only as an in pool floating theremometer that once can visually check the pool temp on the floating unit, but not the remote monitor. I am extremely disappointed in this product, especially since I spent a couple hours troubleshooting and attempting to get it to work properly to no avail. I would not recommend to purchase this product.

This is great to have. Can easily check water temp without reaching into the pool. I have learned over the years to use a silicone lube like Magic Lube when dealing with sealing things that will be in the water. Like pool light gaskets. So I strongly recommend using it on the threads when screwing the top and bottom back together after setting it up. That will keep it from leaking. I initially had a problem. It would intermittently stop displaying the temp. I contacted their customer support and was helped by Krystina. She was terrific! She asked for a picture of my transmitter location. It was up against the wall of the pool. Normal if you tie it to the eyelet that most people do. Well, it couldn’t “see” the receiver properly. So I just moved it to the eyelet on the opposite side of the pool. Voila! Problem solved! It’s a great little unit. Highly recommend! Thank you Krystina!

The media could not be loaded.  I do like it alot but it's only 20ft away thru one outside wall and it won't send the water temp signal.1Just this. -- -- ? I do have it in plain site except the one wall. Which it says it can easily transmit thru it and that does not seem to be the case?Edited. Now during the day it works. Going to check and see. It may be set to rechargeable batteries and that's why at night there is no signal.

Updated:The company contacted me after my review and really went above and beyond to stand behind their product. They did need to replace it, which they did, and now works quite well. Upgraded to 4 stars.Was:Unfortunately mine doesnt work. It powers on, the channels are the same (tried channels 1 & 2), but the base station doesn't get a signal even if right next to it. I let it sit overnight and I. The pool for hours, but no luck.

It really does not work well at all. I received it in the morning and I have all the time trying to configure it, change the channel, reset it and after receiving the first time it never receives the signal again. I already change it in all the Chanel and I have reset many times and it does not work, even being close does not receive the signal. I do not know if this one is damaged or what happens. I think I will claim my refund and rehreat it.

Worked well until we had heavy rain. Water got inside temp sensor. After drying out the temp will not read correctly but still transmits to base. Picture shows backlit display. My unit does not have a backlit display. Lanyard for temp sensor is too fat to fit through tiny hole on side. I drilled it larger. Maybe over time it will dry out more and start reading correctly. The temp sensor must be line of sight to base or you will get "--" for a temp. Mine is 30' away and always has a signal.After drying out and using Teflon tape on the sensor threads it has not leaked and temperature is within 1F compared to a NBS thermometer.

I read all the reviews and the main issue was users not screwing it back together after inserting the battery and water seeping in. I spread some waterproof clear silicone all around the threads, screwed it together tight, and perfect! No leaks and it works great!

I love my Yowosmart wireless pool thermometer. I had it for 10 months and it stopped working so I changed the batteries and it still didn't work. I contacted the manufacturer and after a few conversations they decided my unit was defective and sent me a replacement unit. I will order this again when the time comes - best device and very accurate. Yowosmart was quick to make me happy!!!
