A mighty Stump
These are four of the finest examples of ski film making in the history of the genre: "The Blizzard Of Aahhhs", "License To Thrill", "Groove Requiem In The Key Of Ski" and "P-Tex, Lies & Duct Tape". The unique character of Greg Stump shines through on all of these films and he is truly a gift to the world of skiing. Each of these films posesses the soul of a Stax recording. In fact, a big part of what sets these films apart from the myriad other ski films available is the carefully researched soundtracks. Stump doesn't stop at the obvious, but digs deep into the catalogues of such record labels as London's ZTT to uncover some real hidden gems. As a young, budding musician and music lover my life was changed by watching these films and for that I will be eternally grateful to Stump. While others produce ski "flicks", Stump actually produces films - works of (gulp) art which, I sincerely believe, will endure. The sensitivity he has displayed in his work is certainly worthy of admiration. Thanks, Stumpy.

Some of the best movies ever - not just ski movies
Greg Stump was the master. Only issue is the sound quality is worse than the VHS (which I still own). Don't know why and the reason I gave it only 4 stars. Four of the best films ever made. Skiing has progressed since these were made but not story telling. I had to get these just in case my old VHS versions ever became unplayable. They are that good.

The Wait is Finally Over
I owned these great ski movies on VHS and have been waiting and wondering if they would ever come out on DVD. They finally did and I bought them without any hesitation. These classic movies show incredible skiing by the likes of Greg Schmidt, Glen Plake and others with a great soundtrack. They are, in my opinion, just the right blend between a Warren Miller ski movie (which are boring to me) and any of the newer, ski movies by Matchstick Productions or Teton Gravity Research (which are too intense). Unlike the neon and pastel ski outfits worn by some of the skiers, these movies are classics and will never get old.

Still some of the best ski movies of all time
You might think that since these films are decades old they are too dated to enjoy. But you would be wrong. My wife and I were on a ski vacation and wanted some movies to watch in the evening. I looked at the Warren Miller films but then saw this gem and decided to give it a try. What a terrific buy. The highlight is "Blizzard of Ahhs", which is still ranked as the number one ski movie of all time. After two viewings I totally agree. Don't forget to check out the bonus feature on this disc, as it puts a more human face on the stars of the film, who have aged almost as well as the film.

Arrogance on Parade
I bought this for our ski vacation thinking it would be fun in the background during apre ski. But....these videos are so dated and obnoxious.....we didn't it even bring them with us. At one point on the video they have a woman join their "team", she was a famous woman racer (US olympic ski team), who confesses on camera that she tried to "keep up with the boys, but has now learned her lesson"! OMG, don't buy these videos!!!!

DVDs
One of the DVDs were damaged in the case....very unfortunate. The other DVDs were fine.. Good for research but I wish I could get the last DVD replaced but cannot get a hold of the Producer.

Groove changed my life - these films were Epics of their times
Groove opened my eyes to what skiing should be. It made me go to France after Uni. It made me quit working for a Big 4 Audit firm in Luxembourg to go and live some powder dreams. Finally you can have it on DVD, along with 3 other filmis which changed skiing in the nineties. They are very late-80s / early 90s in style, but unmistakably cool all the same, and in their capturing of what skiing was doing a real historical gem. Incredible.

1 Classic, 1 dud, 2 so so
This package comprises 4 films.Blizzard of Ahhs (5 Stars),Licence to Thrill (Nil Stars)Groove Requiem (2 Star)P-tex, Lies and Duct Tape (2 Star)This pack has a problem. The Blizzard of Ahhs is just so much better than the other 3 films. Although it is the oldest and shortest, it's the only one that has been split into chapters on the DVD. The others are over an hour long which is much to long not to be split up.Groove and p-tex are OK, but lack a certain something (in fact they lack Glen Plake, Mike Hatrup & Bruce Benedict). However Licence to Thrill is a major disappointment. The first song was used in Blizzard and so were the first turns. Of the hour plus run time only about 13 minutes is original material and we see every shot about 4 times, at real speed, then slowed down, speeded up and slowed down again. For those skiers who haven't seen Blizzard of Ahhhs I can only say, do so soon. It sent me down the Zermatt mogul field in under a minute, turn, turn, fall, ouch, ouch ouch..... If Maltese Flamingo had been in this pack instead of Licence to Thrill I would probably been raving not ranting about this.
