As ski movies go this one is pretty good
As ski movies go this one is pretty good. The only really excellent ski movie to me is All.I.Can which is one of the very few I have watched multiple times. Most just have one incredible scene after another mostly of people hucking off steep cliffs or flying through the air which is all pretty cool but after a while just starts to be mind-numbing - OK if at a bar drinking beers and not really watching it but if at home and that is my entertainment my mind starts to wander.Legend of Aahhh's can get this way too but there is more of a story. In this case, the story is mostly about Glenn Plake and Scott Schmidt who were instrumental in early extreme skiing movies and came to define the genre. So, you actually get some story about these guys and others which makes it more interesting than most ski movies.

In some respects I expected more that a Blizzard retrospective however the film rightly takes down the current genre of ski films and explains why Stumpy abandoned the ski film industry. It is absolutely worth watching and will hopefully inspire some of today's film makers to invest a little more into telling a story and less into just providing 90 minutes of some nameless dude screaming down spines in Alaska

Essential Movie
For those of us addicted to ski movies, this one is essential. It documents the history of ski movies from their very beginning, decades ago. The viewer sees select film footage from the past to the present day. Couple this with expert commentary from luminaries like Warren Miller and you have the perfect documentary. Not to be missed. A masterful film!

This movie is truly worth watching, not only as a glimpse into skiing in the 90s, but this movie single-handedly changed the sport of skiing for the better

reminisce
Moves slowly from the good old times to the more modern extreme ski stories. I would have liked more time with Glen Plake and more modern footage.
