ZEBCO33 Cork Reel and Fishing Rod Combo, Graphite Rod with Cork Handle, QuickSet Anti-Reverse Fishing Reel with Bite Alert, Black

I bought this for a lighter setup for brook trout and panfish after years of just fishing fly. I have had it on the water 4 times so far, no issues. Today I was into a good spot for pumpkinseed and sunfish, the combo worked very well for them. To my surprise a 14" smallmouth hit, it gave the rod a workout but I was able to net the bass (not what I would have used if I suspected that fish but the combo held up). Will be thinking about another setup as my wife fishes as well.

This review is for the Trigger Spin. Pole broke after only a few uses. I think I’ll just take the blame on it though not too sure. Anyway I move the reel to another pole and after 5 or 6 uses the trigger no longer holds the line while casting which now dictates releasing the string by the trigger and holding the string onto the pole while casting.... stick with the Zebco gold microcast.

The Zebco 33 trigger spin reel is really smooth. The rod is nice. It came on time and was packaged well. First trigger reel I have c'mon Spring.

First time this item arrived it was some sort of bug deflector for a ATV. Reordered and when it arrived it was only the bottom portion of the pole. Returned both items but something broke down in the links and UPS never picked the items up so I had to swallow the costs of both.
