Best GPS unit I've had
Love using the wahoo. I like the summit segments. Connectivity to phone is easy. The live tracking feature is helpful. Connectivity to strava live segments is great. Downloading and following a created route is easy. The directions are clear and the map is accurate. Even when getting off course for construction or whatever reason, the ability to get you back on course is great. I visited Belgium on a bike trip. Obviously not familiar with the country or the roads, I mapped several routes through the Flandrien countryside and followed them all without getting lost once. Allowed me to enjoy the rides and the countryside without worrying about the route and where I was going knowing that I did the route work upfront and it was done correctly and the device properly displayed everything.

Frustrating set up issues
For the purposes of full disclosure I've always used Garmin and been satisfied with them. There are definitely some flaws and quirks but their products have been well made, last and do what they're supposed to.With that out of the way I recently began using Wahoo's fitness program, WahooX for their workout plans. They've been great so at least Wahoo got that right. I wish I could say the same for their tech. When Amazon prime had a deal on the latest Elemnt Bolt I bought it because of the alleged ease at which you could download their programs to the computer and take their program workouts outside off the trainer.Turns out this is not the case. The Bolt itself is OK. Nothing spectacular about its build. Its rather thick and chunky but also light. It also does not feel as well built as garmin counterparts but so far no glaring defects. Battery life isn't spectacular but is acceptable. The screen is definitely not as good as my older garmin edge 830.Now back to the reason I purchased it in the first place. Wahoo has an app for their workout plans called wahooX. It has a calendar with scheduled workouts and you may add to it as well. A few years ago Wahoo began adding a corresponding outdoor version of all their workouts. This was a great idea and effort. When using a Wahoo unit (either the Bolt or Roam), you pair it with your phone that has the app on it and synch the unit. The scheduled workout is supposed to appear in your "planned workouts" on the head unit.It doesn't work. At least not on my unit. I've tried everything I can in trouble shooting, install and uninstall the app, reset the head unit, etc. Nothing works. So the ONLY reason I purchased it for doesn't work.Perhaps this is a fluke but I don't think so. Either way I'm tired of these companies releasing mediocre products with software problems, and tech problems that make you jump through hoops to get them to work.Edit: updated my review and my rating. After uninstalling and reinstalling the companion app I did a factory reset of the wahoo bolt itself. Removed it from the phone's log. Went through set up from the very beginning including the QR code that shows up on first start up on the Wahoo unit. This time I was given more prompts about my demographics and my preferred units of measurements(ie miles vs km, Fahrenheit vs C) which did not occur the first time I set it up. I also was prompted to perform a software update on the wahoo bolt. After this update the wireless from Wshoo system X synch with the Wahoo head unit and the dudes can be taken outside.I've also gotten to rude with it outside. I'm pretty pleased. Really liked how it used its programs maps to know there was a climb ahead, calculate its grade, and show the distance to the summit. Battery did well as well and for some reason performed better than indoors but thar may be a result of the software update. So overall I'm pleased and septic definitely tell others to give the Wahoo units some thought if in the market for a new one. There are definitely things I prefer with garmin but also areas where I prefer Wahoo.Still only giving it a 4 because of the problems at start up. The inconvenience of having to re-pair all the sensors is only that... an inconvenience. However the fact that I didn't get a software update initially is disturbing. Makes me wonder about the quality of the overall product

Great Bike Computer
The Wahoo is very light and it is really accurate. You can change the colors on the unit to identify different things. I really like it and highly recommend it.

Pretty seamless, very intuitive and does what I need
I'm very happy with the Bolt V2, which is an upgrade from my Garmin Edge 500. I know that is old tech, but it doesn't change how delighted I am by how well the Bolt just works. It picked up my Garmin sensors, it was easy to sync to Ride with GPS, the buttons are easy to use on the fly and with gloves and the screens, while not as customizable, just work. There was clearly a lot of design thought behind the UI and for my use, they nailed it. I was amazed how it adjusted to a loaded route on the fly without the need to acknowledge the change or mess around with my phone. I am so glad to be able to relegate my phone to my jersey pocket and just ride.

The color LEDs are awesome!
As someone who's entrenched in the Garmin ecosystem (head unit, watch, scale), i was a bit reluctant to get a wahoo but i had to for my son to train on real courses on kickr since Garmin gets stuck in ERG mode. Not only does this unit work perfectly with kickr, it does a great job simulation real world courses. The best part is the array of color-changing LEDs at the top, which are bright enough to see in sunlight. I have it set to display 3s power for my son and it is so awesome i may have to get wahoo myself!
