V2 of the best way to hold portable devices.
Any of these magichold products are the best way to hold 1 or more portable devices simultaneously. Believe it or not, they reliably do so for years. I've had V1 of theirs get knocked over about 3 times and somehow protected every device as the rig landed on tile floors. Dramatic noise and process settling to the ground but nothing including the stand took damage. Clips sprung off amd devices let go after it hit the ground, but came out good. Jaunty, wonky fall each time, with all the appendages softening the fall or something--no cracked screens and sometimes they were even open-- these, even V1, do have a gripping . I suspect a critical recipe in my formula is I spray (Amsoil) silicone lubricant on any plastic/rubber that's not meant to be grippy. (so all but the ones on the actual device clamp) . On the V1 I had to wrap a tool-grip rubber over theirs since it was letting a 14" laptop slide in vertical position. This new one's tablet-holding mounts are alot better than even the tool grip, so they saw this problem and resolved it.

Husband loves it for gaming!
Purchased this for my husband's living room coach gaming setup. It fits the Arzopa Portable Monitor very well and it's very sturdy. Easy to assemble and disassemble for traveling! He loves it!

Useful laptop stand
Would give it a five star review but don't want to appear like this is a fake review. Excellent robust laptop table for a variety of uses. Sitting, lying down, at a desk, on the sofa, on the floor. Easy to assemble, worth the cost, easy to adjust and stays at each level chosen. It is a little awkward and will not win aesthetic beauty awards, and may topple if you are not careful, but overall very happy.

Great functionality and value overall
I've used this thing nearly daily for six months and just now thought to myself again how great it is. Decided it was time to write a review. You can see from the photos that it can handle a full-size MBP to allow for comfortable use from a couch. Just a tad wobbly because of the weight, nbd. The height adjustment is a snap. You can also see that it works great with a solid-size Chromebook (not a tablet, a whole Chromebook). The Chromebook is heavy enough that you can see I've added some extra clips to make sure it stays in place at any angle, but I'm sure a lighter tablet wouldn't need anything extra to feel secure. This stand is also light - I took these two photos right after each other, and moving it around the house is absolutely no problem at all.The only real drawbacks here are that the swivel range is limited (but provides the benefit that it stays in place quite well when used as a touch screen) and that it does best when something secures the legs. It's not magic and can overbalance easily with a heavy device. The instructions note that you can place legs under the mattress and that works great. It wasn't too difficult to assemble, although a doofus like me found the video instructions a bit confusing. All in all I really can't imagine not having this thing and I am quite tempted to buy another one or two.

NEEDS BETTER DESIGN AND 5 MONTHS LATER I'M DITCHING IT
I bought this thinking the arm swivelled so I could just swing my laptop out of the way when I got up out of my recliner, only to find out that only part of the arm swivels. Where the arm attaches to the vertical pole, it does not swivel. The pole has a groove in it that runs the length of the pole, and where the arm is attached to it, a tab screws runs through to arm collar and into that groove, so all you can do is move the arm up and down. However, the arm does have an elbow joint that swivels, but not enough to move my laptop completely out of the way.As you can see in the picture, I reversed the arm so that it tilts down, thus enabling the arm of the stand to clear the arm of my recliner, but the problem with that is that the laptop is a little crooked, with one side being lower that the other. I'm going to see if I can cut the pole in half and add a sleeve to the pole so I can get the whole arm to swivel.5 MONTH UPDATE: I cut the arm in half so the whole are would swivel, but the legs on the bottom of the stand limit the amount of swivel, and if you swivel it too much, the whole stand tips over. Also, I have already re-glued one of the pads on one of the side laptop holders. No matter what I used: contact cement, or epoxy glue, nothing seems to keep the pad glued to the telescoping plastic side mount. I've finally had it with this thing. It is too cumbersome to use, and I'm going to get a wall mount, telescoping, swivel laptop holder instead.

Crucial plastic piece crumbled after a handful of months.
Loved this thing while it lasted. The plastic part holding the laptop tray to the stand's arm completely crumbled while I was trying to make an adjustment after only 8 or so months. I don't think I used anything abnormally - just set my laptop on it so I could read in bed.Update: Reached out to the seller and they sent the broken part replacement. They must've sent it quickly - I had it in just a few days. Thank you!

Stubby Arm Made Me Return
Did everything I could to make the magichold work for my laptop in bed.First, I noticed if you only use the big black screw on the bottom you can turn the one-way attach pillar 360 degrees. However, I needed weights to keep it upright. In the end though, no matter what I did I would have to scootch myself as close to the pillar bar as possible.Pillar bar is too short for a standing desk. Can't see much of a use for this besides sitting. Also, it's pretty hard to assemble. There's one youtube video that is linked on a sheet paired with the box that is low quality. I was able to manage but I doubt most people would enjoy figuring out how this design works. Not worth the money or the time I put into it. Get something else.
