Not 10 watts.
First the positive. This is a durable radio, the battery is big (3000mha), and the radio is easy to program with the correct cable and software. The downside is that this radio is NOT 10 watts. I tested the radio with a Jetstream Power meter and a 300 watt dummy load. Side by side testing against a Baofeng UV-5R shows that the fully charged Baofeng puts out 5.2 watts while the Tonfa put out 4.8 watts on VHF, 4 watts on UHF and .5 watts on low power. I tested two of the Tonfa TF-Q5 just in case the first radio I tested was a lemon and the results were the same for both radios. The box, the manual, and the radio all say 10 watts on them but the output is definitely not 10 watts.

The radio played fine until I removed the antenna
I purchased one of these TONFA Q5 radios and put it on a meter into a dummy load, and it was not 10 watts. I measured 4.8 watts on VHF, and 4.0 on UHF. The radio played fine until I removed the antenna , I have some after market high gain antennas and wanted to put one on. Upon removing it the brass nut that holds the SMA antenna post of the radio fell on the floor. I put it back in place but the radio would cut in and out if you moved it, so something on the circuit board inside was loose. I notified the seller and she was very helpful, and sent me another unit, and it also played for a few days, and I did not attempt to change the antenna however it too began to cut in and out and it also is not useable. I assume these are defective units as I have read a ton of complaints about them. I cannot recommend this radio, as firstly it is falsely advertised, it is not a 10 watt radio the box says 10 watt on it, and the label inside the battery compartment also says 10 watt output however , it is a 5 watt unit, and on Ebay they are advertised as 5 watt radios by other sellers. I now have 2 of these radios that are scrap and I can't use either of them. The only thing I can say is the Seller is very polite, and I do not believe the Seller knows these are not 10 watt radios, because they probably import all sorts of products and sell them. You are not getting this from someone who sells only radios and radio parts however I will say that the customer service is very good, they tried to make it right for me, and communication with the seller is a full 5 stars, but I cannot recommend this radio to anyone. It looks nice, it appears to be well built and the sound quality is excellent but once again, it's a 5 watt radio with a lot of problems. There are better choices out there, I have purchased 2 of the Baofeng BF F8HP dual band hand held radios, and both of them are 8 watt output into a dummy load. They are also tri power, lo, med, and hi adjustable 2,4, and 8 watts on the meter. In summary I will repeat, this is a 5 watt radio, they do look good, they fit the hand well, the display is crisp and good looking and they have a good audio quality however the units I received are both defective. I can only rate this radio as a one star, and I would love to see any TONFA Q5 radio put out 10 watts. Whoever said they have one and it's 10 watts does not know anything about these. I have been an Amateur Radio operator since 1976, and have owned a lot of radios and equipment, and I can honestly tell you that if you want a 5 watt radio and are willing to gamble on getting one that works then buy this one, if you are looking for 10 watt dual band amateur radio hand held walkie talkie they do not exist.

Wrong power supply
I live in the USA, not Europe. However, I got a 220 volt power supply for the charger base instead of our 110. I did not realize that it would take forever to program the radio using the supplied instructions. Now I have to find the proper cable for this and a program to do it with. Everything was just as promised as far as delivery date and well protected for shipping.

It works fine. Good receive/good transmit
I have had this radio for approximately two months. It works fine. Good receive/good transmit. The stock antenna is worthless. I use an SMA female antenna that I purchased on Amazon and it improved things considerably.I have not had a problem with the o-ring in the base of the antenna connection falling out. The battery holds a charge for a long time. I wish Amazon sold the battery eliminator and battery for this unit. That would make it much easier for me since I use this transceiver in my car connected to a Browning 2 meter/70 cm dual band mobile antenna. The reason I gave this tranceiver a 3 star rating is because Tonfa advertised the radio as a 10 watt output which is the main reason it was purchased. Now they are advertising it as a 5 watt output. I also saw their ad claiming it had an 8 watt output. Which is it?A ham friend of mine put it on a watt meter and measured 7.8 watts on the 2 meter band so if Tonfa says it's 5 watts and I'm getting 7.8 watts I guess I can't complain too much.I do feel a bit taken by this issue, and hopefully Tonfa will get their act together. All and all, it's a decent radio as far as I'm concerned.

Avoid this radio.... They are Problematic at best.... Maybe wait until they get a couple revisions under their belt...
Stay away... Baofeng much better product for the money. Baofeng supported by Chirp. I have had two of these Tonfa units for three weeks, they are not robust at all, one is now sidelined. Antenna connection has broken loose from the radio housing. Programming software is miserable. I feel I have given these radios an honest fair trial. I am sticking with Baofeng. Baofeng has a new 8-5-1 watt unit for the same price. I'd go with one of them instead. I will say the vendor has done a nice job of providing customer service.
