Great customer service
5/26/17 update -- it appears my unit may be defective, however the seller made it right. I'm upgrading the rating to 5 stars for the following reasons. The seller obviously wants to do the right thing and provided great customer service. They were in contact with me via email, almost daily. As I mentioned in my original review, when it's on the desk, it works great. Customer service and integrity are what's important to me and the seller reflects both - so this is a well made product that the seller will stand behind if you do have an issue.****************************************Here's what they don't tell you, or mine is defective. Hoping the manufacturer will read this and let me know. There is no way to not make it expand when lifting or moving. I pulled this out of the box, it is a little heavy, but not too heavy and immediately it expands. It can only be laid flat without it expanding - with or without using the lever. Very frustrating to try to move as you have to have a lot of strength to try to hold it closed while moving. I had hoped I could store this vertically when not in use. I have a folding desk I use when I work from home. This fits great on it, but when I fold the desk to put it away, I wanted to slide this next to it. Can't. It will only stay shut when it's horizontal on a solid surface. I have no idea how I'd return it since the minute it's off a solid surface, it's open alllllll the way?? Only paperwork included is a one sheet showing how to make it go up and down, but dang it. I want it stay shut when moving. I assume there would be a latch or it would only move when the lever is engaged. When it's on the desk it's great. Holds my computer, extra monitor, etc. easy to move up and down.I'd love to know if this is a defect? If it is, I'll try to find a way to return??

Truly "Stand Up" Customer Service (you see what I did there? :D)
A perfect product and EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!Product comes assembled and is, in my opinion, the perfect size. Not so big that it takes over your workspace but big enough that it holds everything you need when it's elevated. I'm 5'9" and when it is extended up, I'd don't even use all of the allotted height... meaning that this easily would work for someone 6' tall.On a personal note, I had an issue where a small hardware part was missing. The desk still functioned, but it left a small scratch on the bottom of the metal plate that sits on the desk (note, the scratch was inside the scissor portion of the desk, not on my actual company-owned desk itself) and the scratch was getting worse the more I used the rising feature. I didn't care about the scratch (you can't see it when the desk is closed) but knew that the lifting would be smoother with the absent hardware. I contacted customer service and they responded the very same day. At my request (because this thing is heavy and I did not want to lug it to the post office to return it) they shipped me not only the hardware that I was missing, but an entire surprise replacement piece for the bottom plate because I had mentioned the scratch. They even went so far as to apologize for the whole three day delay in shipping me the part, as they had created a custom package just for me and it took longer! Two day shipping from China. I was baffled but incredibly appreciative because it shows that they care about their product and their customers!! Thank you, BasicSupport, for treating me the way you did!I would recommend this product to anyone who is interested in this type of standing desk. I started a new job in January and it included more time sitting at a desk that my previous job did. Simply adding more standing time to my day has decreased the new back/sciatic nerve problems I was experiencing. I am beyond happy with my purchase!

A great value
This is an excellent standing desk. I previously used a Varidesk at work and liked it enough that I wanted one for the extensive home work that I do. However, I didn't want to pay the premium price and was OK with making some compromise in quality. With the Table-jack, which I have used for a couple months now, I can't see any compromises yet. Its action is as smooth and reliable as the more expensive machine, the tabletop is large enough for a 22" monitor, a separate laptop, full-size keyboard and a mouse, and space left for note pad or coffee cup. Fully loaded it is still easy to raise or lower, and it is very solid in both up and down positions. The finish is smooth, so it is actually easier to clean than the pebble-finish of my Varidesk. Overall, a great choice.

Initial action
Using the desk at work. Although it does state in the very simple directions that it takes a few "up and down" time for the mechanism to work, one must be patient. It takes about 10 times for it to become easier, after that is is quite easy.I previously had the adjustable standing desk that sells for around $400 - it was sturdier, but not enough other features to make it better than this desk. I would have preferred something a bit smaller, but overall I really like this desk !!

Advantages to combination sitting and standing during the day
Absolutely love this! I was tired of sitting all day and deciding it would be best to get one of these desks. It definitely helps with keeping you active during the day and there are advantages with switching from sitting to standing during an 8-hour work day.

It would be perfect, but it's not
This desk converter is the perfect size and shape for what I need, but if this thing is working correctly, I'll need to return it. It's solid and steady at full height, and even mid-height. However, if I lower it down to an extension of about five inches, which is where I need it when my chair is low, it falls with the slightest pressure. I have two monitors, one 21 inch and one 18 inch, sitting on empty boxes, so weight shouldn't be an issue. I'd can't imagine this is normal. I've sent two messages and a video to the seller and have yet to hear back. I'm the office guinea pig and have three co-workers who are also looking at this product. I'll update my review if I get a response and figure out how to make this work the way I need it to.
