The price is a bit on the higher side, but it’s definitely worth it for the quality and functionality. Our fireplace mantel is very high so we needed something like this and it is perfect for our space. Very sturdy and secure.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great mount with one important caveat.

I installed this mount with a 65" LG OLED TV. This particular model of TV has the VESA mount holes located near the bottom of the unit, rather than the more common middle. This created a problem because using the mount out-of-the-box like that would have put the arm too low on the TV, resulting in very little mantel clearance. i.e., The vertical drop would have been about half of what the mount is capable of. I resolved the problem by fabricating a couple of adaptor brackets out of 1/8" angle iron am very pleased with the result. What I like: - Extremely well-written instructions. A lot of thought was put into writing the instructions by someone who obviously natively speaks English. If you have your own tools and are handy, this is all you need to install this mount. However, if you're the type of person who get annoyed that hex wrenches aren't included in the box, this isn't the project for you. - Responsive customer service. I opened a support ticket with the company about the challenging TV and promptly got a reply. - Plenty of hardware included. The manufacturer went overboard with a variety of including mounting hardware for various models of TVs. This was appreciated. - Solidly built. The mount is made of heavy gauge steel. I was concerned about cantilevering 80+ lbs a couple of feet away from a wall with only 4 lag bolts. However, after installation, it seems pretty solid. What I didn't like. - As far as I can tell, there's no way to level the TV on the mount. I guess they assume that if the mount is level, so will the TV? However, my TV is about 1/2" out of level across its width. This may be due to some play in the adaptor brackets I needed to build. But it would be nice to have a way to level the TV independently of the mount. - No way to center the TV separately of the the mount. The two studs that are holding the mount are not exactly centered over the fireplace. In the manual, it does say that I can adjust the TV upto 2" in either direction horizontally, but that it's intended to balance a heavy-sided TV. Seperate centering would be nice. - Most significantly (and why I've rated this 4 rather than 5 stars): After installing the mount to the wall, but before adding the TV, there's a step in which you force the arm down about 12" and temporarily install a safety bolt into the arm. This is intended to keep the arm in the "down" position to make it easier to mount the TV. The safety bolt is supposed to pass between two contact points in the arm, however it's very easy to mistakenly insert it too far which results in only one contact point. This resulted in the arm suddenly flying up as I increased the counterweight tension and scissoring the 5/16" bolt almost 90 degrees. I had to use a large pair of bolt cutters to remove it and replaced it with a stronger, 6 x 5/16" grade 8 bolt. This is a design flaw that could result in a potential safety problem. All-in-all, I really like this product and would recommend it. But perhaps not for the typical homeowner who doesn't have the experience or patience to DIY some steps.
