Backyard and Beyond Basic Boats-titanic kit

Unlike other reviews, I made sure to read the description before purchasing this model. Truthfully, it wasn't all that difficult to understand.Models aren't made to be functional, they are made to be displayed. They are kinda like pictures. Models need assembled and painted. That's the point of buying them. It's for the journey.THAT BEING SAID, I wanted another piece of decor that I could put together and display in my bathroom. This will make a great addition.The one star reviews on this product do not reflect the product very much but do reflect the ignorance of the consumer.I will update once I have this model built and completed. I can't wait to complete it!UPDATE 1: The wood used in this kit is very soft and lightweight. I actually think it will absorb paint better this way since it is porous enough to soak it in. The packaging screams "made in China." The smoke stacks were cut a little to long so they look our of proportion and a few of the precut holes were not exactly where they needed to be. I would probably buy this again if it only cost $5. But for $9 you also get free shipping with prime, so that's good. Another important thing to add is this boat only measures about 9" long and looks a little bit bigger in the pictures.

Bought this for my son. He is into titanic ship, boats and whatever that floats on water.

It did the job, 1st grade project for Titanic.Some adult assistance required due to very tiny pieces.I wouldn't pay that price again for this item.

I wish I would have passed on this ! it's a damn build it yourself and the pieces are cheaply made. Save your money and move on !

For what you got and the amount you spent, it was very sad. Plus it said complete and proceeded to give you a list of items you needed to purchase to complete the boat. It is not a good deal for theoneu spent. Very disappointed with it.

Gift for my 9yr old nephew who is a Titanic buff..very nicely done.😀

As far as model ships go, this is a great product for kids, because it's not terribly detailed. The parts are well made; instructions are clear and concise. The box is very cute and makes a nice little storage case for the ship when it's done. Over all, I'd say this is an effective and fun historical learning project for kids to do with parents or teachers. The price is very reasonable.

My grand son and his father are working on this kit now.. He is putting a lot of love into it and is so proud of the good job he is doing. He thinks everyone should have a model of the Titanic.
