The material is waterproof and resistant to ultraviolet light. It can be worn by either men or women. An advantage of the Hoquy Beret is that you are able to roll it up for quick storage. The beret will keep its shape when you put it back on, even after being kept rolled-up inside your pocket or bag. The most sensible hat ever invented!
A beret may be worn in a blizzard, in the rain, in high winds, and keeps you dry and warm. It looks dashing with a jacket, and can be stowed in a pocket or sleeve. It may be worn with a rakish tilt, or pulled down snugly to ward off the cold. But, it is essential to get a real beret, and not some thin and flimsy imitation. This requires a Hoquy- the authentic french/basque wool beret. It will cost more but will last you for years, and it looks as good as the day you bought it, but acquires character with time.Well made, waterproof wool with a satin lining-it is the best.

Beautifully Made
It is beautifully made. I was hoping it would fit tighter and more secure. I ordered too large I think...although the hat is very shallow. I think I am just used to a pull on hat. I am happy I ordered it though...the China berets are pretend ones! This is nice to have the real thing...as long as it is not windy.

Fit is perfect and the heavy wool has just the character I was hoping for. I will be wearing mine with pleasure.Yes it has a vinyl sweatband. I don't foresee it soaking up sweat and cracking as it dries out.

This is a real Basque beret.
Man, I have always wanted a real Basque beret that fits and this is it. Worth every penny and it will last forever if I take care of it and don't leave it behind at a restaurant. HOQUY FRENCH BERET. A Hat for a Man of TRUE STYLE.
This is a great hat in the traditional style that the true French Beret was meant to have,l in it's style and grace, with a hatbabd of leather inside and woven ribbon along with the finest wool weave to make this a substantial hat for the winter months. Just beautiful.

Quality Workmanship Great Value
I found this vendor to be excellent the product to be "world Class in quality and workmanship" the satin label, hand stiched into the Beret showing hte logo of the company, the leather headband is comfortable and the size is ture to my head size.
