I love drinking young coconut water and eating the coconut jelly, is hydrating and full of nutrients. This tool makes opening young coconut a lot safer than using a knife to chop it open. It is also a lot quicker. Depending on the age of the young coconut it takes 3-5 hits with the rubber mallet to crack open the coconut. But I wish the edges were a lot more sharper. When I open the coconut crack I always see fiber/husks in the coconut water. So I have to go the extra step and get a big tea strainer to pour out the coconut water to drink. Cause I don’t want to swallow fiber/husks. I contact the seller but seller NEVER reply.

So I always but the Thai Coconuts and I always had to get a guy friend open them with a hammer and a sharp knife. It took us 20 minutes to open a single one. Then one day, I tried doing it myself and ended up at the hospital with 4 stitches. Then I bought the opener and you can open and enjoy your coconut in 2 minutes. Just make sure to hit the coconut on one side only , because I was all frantic this doesnt work, but as soon as you hit it on one side only, it WORKS.love this product.

Just received this coconut opener. Though I'm sure its going to be effective at opening up young coconuts, I was pretty disappointed to open up the package and find that the hammer is not like the one pictured in the listing. Instead its an ugly plastic orange handle and head hammer (see pics) instead of the wood handle and black head hammer in the pics. Again this does not take away anything from the functionality, but as a person who cares about aesthetics and design, I ended up choosing this brand (with a longer wait time) over the bigger King Coco brand because i hated the orange plastic hammer look that they offered. Unfortunately, I still ended up with an ugly orange hammer.

This is the greatest. If you eat young coconuts, this is a MUST. Before this product, I was hacking away with a knife and broke 2 of them in the process. Not to mention, using a knife to open them is very dangerous. This coconut opener allows you to open the coconut in seconds and gives you a hole big enough to dig out the coconut meat with a spoon. I highly recommend this product for anyone who eats young coconuts

Whackomole! This is the most fun thing ever. I recommend you watch the video for the “Name Brand”. I just angle the silver thingy, give it 3 or four good whacks, pry it open and enjoy! It works best when you put it on a towel on the counter (no vibration). Good work off your tension device and it’s fun to use! And mine looks just like the picture. Wood handle and all.

I've used this now to open over 15 coconuts, and it's held up amazingly. It's so easy to open them now, before I bought this, I'd use a hammer and a large knife, then brute strength to open them. This creates a hole big enough to scoop the meat out, so you don't have to split the coconut in half. I now eat several fresh coconuts a week, its only aiding in my addiction!

This awesome tool has changed the frequency with which we purchase fresh coconuts. Used to be once in while, every year or so. Now we buy a case at a time! It makes opening fresh coconuts so doable. Granted, some coconuts are tougher than others, but overall, we can always get them open eventually with this tool. Much cleaner and SAFER than using a machete. My 11 year old can do it.

Great tool to use to open young coconuts. Had 18 coconuts to open throughout the weekend. The tool held up the whole weekend and is still going strong. The metal is sturdy. The mallet could be a bit bigger but it still does the job. Great tool for someone who loves coconuts.
