Caesar Fireplace Luxury Portable Mini Indoor Compact Freestanding Room Heater (CHFP-003)

I really wanted to love this...I Like the color, size, and that there are no plastic fake logs. I own 2 other small portable electric fireplaces (Dimplex cubes) which I still use. BUT when I plugged this one in, the entire metal case (and glass) became very hot to the touch and within a half-hour, it, shut down. After letting it sit an hour, I tried to reset it multiple times, but each time it shut itself down within a few minutes. The lower- temp.setting doesn't work on my unit at all and the unit emits a" burning electrical odor" each time before switching itself off.. I understand that sometimes products are defective, but in this case, the manual actually warns that the glass can become very hot to the touch.... I will return this one as defective but not reorder, since my other portable electric fireplaces are safe to touch when turned on.

As advertised. I didn't realize there is no remote on/off though. But it's a great one.
