Q: Maybe a dumb question but, do all 3 wires route through the pedal or just the hot wire? Make a big difference for safety I suspect.

Hi. The hot wire runs through the pedal (up and back), and the green ground lead provides the safety. The neutral lead on the pedal's piggyback plug simply passes through. What this pedal does is break the hot lead only. There's no increased safety risk because the pedal is grounded through the green lead to the socket. The neutral lead on North American wiring is a tie to ground, but does not provide any increased safety (should a hot lead let go and touch the case, etc) because if it was tied to the case, the case itself would then become hot when the product was on/hot. So that's why the USA switched from 2 wires to 3 wires (adding the ground) around 60 years ago. Also, this product is both UL and CSA-listed. They do initial safety testing on the design and product, and regularly audit our factory to ensure that we are using approved parts and assembling according to approved standards. Q: This may be a dumb question but the wall wart for my Christmas lights is very large. Takes up about 2-3 spots. Is that a problem for this at all?

Good morning. I don't know what a wall wart is, but what really matters is that you do not exceed the rated amperage (15 amps in this case) for the foot switch. So at 120 VAC times 15, you can put 1800 watts through it safely, but no more than that. Thanks, Jim Moll at SSC 440-205-1600

Q: is the bottom of the pedal rubberized ?

Q: Will this work with halogen bulbs?

Yes it will work with halogen bulbs. Remember not to exceed the amperage rating of the switch. This is just an "on/off" switch. This foot switch is a quality product.
