Catch a falling star
Prefer battery operated. My choice

Good but could be better
As you can see from the photos the light can't plug in correctly (UK) but if you switch on plug & then push it in some it works. The temperature is off by a degree or 2. Otherwise it is adequate to turn on & off automatically.

2 in the box but only 1 worked initially.
First light worked as per description. You will need a small/precision screw driver to open the battery compartment. Unfortunately the 2nd one failed to operated when the switch was set to 'auto'. Opened it up out of boredom as I have no electronic knowledge. Shuggled the connections and the auto option now works. You may have more luck. Light is bright enough at night and the motion detection is good. If both worked out of the box it would have been 5 stars.

Love these, and I have got plenty to compare them with...
The media could not be loaded. I am a huge fan of motion-controlled night lights/security lights. At a quick guess I reckon I own at least 12 different types and makes. Some have to be plugged into a mains plug socket (i.e. standard 3-pin), and others are powered by batteries. To date I have never had ones that also tell you the temperature and humidity though! These stick-on night lights are a nice slim design and you can opt to just stand them on a flat surface or use the self-adhesive backing plate to basically fix them anywhere. I like the plain rectangular diffused light panel, the diffusion helps to soften the effect of the light when on. There are three colour temperatures and I very much prefer the warm white setting. Also you have three brightness levels so there should be an ideal setting for most peoples' needs. You can switch the unit off, have it on continually, or put it into "Auto" mode (which is typically the principal use and in this mode the light will stay on for between 15-20 seconds if no movement is detected). The night lights are fitted with the latest type of 3-mode sensor so there's no creeping up on this and not being 'spotted' - the night light will very reliably detect you up to 5 mtrs away. This makes the devices a great safety aid in dark places. The maximum light setting is not going to flood your room with light, this is a night light, so the light output is a gentle aid to illuminate the immediate area. I think the three brightness levels are ideal for its intended function.Just a couple of AAA batteries are all that's required. I prefer that it doesn't need plugging in as that makes it so much more versatile and you are not limited. It could be in a stairwell, sat against a skirting board, stuck on a cupboard door and even stuck by a lightswitch to save fumbling around in the dark for the switch. The two extra features (USPs) are the temperature readout and humidity that display on the (non-lit) LCD panel situated below the sensor lens. In my tests the temperature readouts seemed very accurate. I cannot measure the humidity reading accuracy... but it's a neat feature to have. You get two night lights for under £25 which is good value for such a neat and functional product. These are, at the moment, my favourite night light designs. Worth a 5 Star rating.

Does not easily fit UK sockets.
Clever unit. But, the width of the unit covers the on/off switch on both types of socket in our house. Has to be slightly out of socket to work, which I believed dangerous as prongs only loosely held in socket. Units returned for refund, which came quickly.

Plug switches itself off!
I got the plug version, but it is so wide it touches the plugs switch so when it's fully pushed in it turning the switch off! Returned.

Suitable for dark places which need a battery powered motion detector light.
This light can be mounted on adhesive pads within the home or perhaps in a shed. It is battery operated and takes two AAA batteries, which are not supplied. It is a little fiddly to remove the battery back, but not significantly different from other items where this is needed. Although I was not sure about getting a battery-operated device you can use rechargeable batteries and it does mean that the light will work in a power cut or somewhere where there is not an electricity supply. The lights come neatly packaged in their own box with an instruction manual. You get two in the box. There are three operating modes, AUTO / OFF / ON.On is permanently on,Auto enables the motion sensor in the front to work. The light in auto mode works in a darker space, it does not work if facing a bright light. The motion sensor is very quick to react to motion, and from quite a distance in the dark – we managed to test it to around 5 metres.Once activated the light stays on for around 20 seconds if there is no further motion (ie it stays on for approximately 20 seconds. There are three brightness modes, 100% / 75% / 50% brightness – in that order, you toggle through them with one button on the side. Also a button labelled 3000 / 4500 / 6500k which seems to give a light orange / bright white / dimmer white light – in that order, the button is a toggle again.I like the temperature guide in degrees Celsius, with a tiny word ‘TEMPERATURE’ underneath. It seems to be consistent with a mercury thermometer we placed near it. And it also gives humidity as a percentage eg 59% / 57%, with a tiny word ‘HUMIDITY’ underneath. The range for the humidity seems to be from 55% (dry) to 62% where we placed it. I was not able to test this against another device.Overall, this is a useful light, we kept in in the hallway landing, to light the way for anyone who may needs to get up in the middle of the night.

Good if not overly bright
These motion sensor lights come in a pack of two. The sensor is responsive when it comes to detecting movement. The light has a choice of subtly different tones and brightnesses but is never especially bright - fine for some ambient lighting or as a low luminance night light. The thermometer seems accurate and I had the exact same temperature reading from both units when placed side by side which shows consistency.
