MUCH better than cheap collar that broke in under 2 weeks. Happy!
I just received this collar and set it up for my puppy. It gets 5 stars for now and I will update later on. I had to replace a cheap Bark Solution training collar that stopped working in less than two weeks. For the moment this product appears to be far greater for double the price. The receiver is larger and heavier in a good way: it doesn't feel cheap and easily broken like many other cheap dog training collars. The length and width of the receiver is similar to a TV remote and the length about the same as a deck of cards, maybe slightly bigger. It's not overwhelmingly large and I could easily travel with it which is very important. The actual device is sturdier and heavier than the previous one I bought and the rubber plug that covers the charging port is far superior which gives me great confidence in it's performance and waterproofing. The collar that comes with it is black, plastic, and extremely long that makes such a nice product look cheap, but I understand why they used it. The design for attaching the device to the collar makes it harder to slide cloth through, or at least, that's what I think. The plastic collar doesn't seem like it will fall apart or break, so in the end that is more important than beauty. I'm sure there are plenty of collars that could fit through the slots on the device if you want to use your own.Set up was very easy by following the directions in the manual and the training system worked right away. I like that on this receiver you press the button that indicates the action of beep, vibrate, or shock rather than having a mode button that you have to press several times to get to the command you want. The 1 - 10 system is better than 1 - 100 in my opinion. I don't want to press a button 50 times just to reach half strength for vibrate. I've already used the vibrate function on her to correct behavior and she responded much better to it than she did with the old collar. This training collar did no show up on best training collar lists when I searched around for reviews online (outside of Amazon). The dog community seems to unanimously agree that few brands offer quality, long lasting collars and they pretty much start at $130 and go up to $500. I decided to take a risk on this one after reading the Amazon reviews, because I do not need this training system for heavy duty use. I use the vibrate to keep her on track when I tell her to come and prevent her from bulldogging the cat (she doesn't always realize she is so heavy already that she could hurt the cat when they play). The shock I have used very few times (with the old collar) and will use it very sparingly with the new one. Some people need serious behavior reform for large and unruly pets or constant use for years. If that's the case for you, it's probably prudent to research the best training collars and shell out the money for the best in the business. So far I am happy with this product and recommend it to anyone who needs light to medium use. I will update over time to let you know how it lasts.

Updated Collar, keeps charge for a LONG time
I bought an older version of this collar a long time ago and it worked great. It's a high quality product and I would use it when i run with my dog so he can run off the leash (where permitted) and I wouldn't have to worry about him running off or chasing people, other dogs, etc. The old model would keep its charge for a few days if always on. I temporarily lost the remote to the old collar (~$50 to replace) so I decided to buy the whole setup again. The new collar is smaller than the old one and appears to be more durable, particularly where the charger plugs in (i had an old collar charging port break on me once). I'm also surprised at how long the collar holds its charge while on continuously - over a week! Granted I'm not pushing the buttons a lot and it would depend on that more than anything else, but it's still very impressive. I also experienced that the old collar would occasionally become unpaired to the old remote. I have not experienced this happening with the new ones. Also good to know - the old collar and remote are compatible with the new collar and remote. you can only pair one remote with each collar, but it's good to know that you can use the old remote with the new collar or the new remote with the old collar.

So far working great!
So far working well.i have an older 900 yard collar from another company with vibrate and shock only, but the battery doesn't stay charged anymore. So instead of paying for a replacement collar for $20 more than I paid for this transmitter and collar. I thought I would try it. With 10 billion options out there, Honestly I just picked one that looked different than most and made in Australia. Why... I guess all the others seemed to look like each other and claimed different distances and water resistant-vs- water proof, most have about 10% of bad reviews, battery issues, most made in China.blah, blahblah...overload!!! So I took a chance on koolkani, it charged as expected, it seemed to work well so far, I take my dog in the woods, brush that are pretty thick, even in winter, and was not expecting it to work in those conditions, but today he has came out of the bushes after a tone was sent, although he is not too far away, probably 40-50 yards, and I can't see him in the brush . That wouldn't happen with me just calling him, black lab with a new sense of freedom and the scent of bunnies, he developed selective hearing and regressed to not thinking he needs to listen to me anymore, much like when I rescued home 6 years ago. It took just one vibration to remind him to listen! The collar seems nice, plastic and waterproof, ? The longevity though. The receiver and transmitter seem of good construction and is easy to use. The one con for me is not having a tone option before, I was hoping for a louder tone, more for me than him, so I could kind of track him down with out sending a vibe or shock. Someone on amazon q&a said you could hear it in a quiet setting about 100' away... I could not hear it 10' away, he must have really good hearing, but the dog can and I guess that's it intention.as far as batteries and durability I will update in the future, but as of now functioning well and am happy . I would give it five but have not fully tested it in longer distances and durability, will update in the future

Only works sometimes.
We dont use the shock on this but for the sound and vibrate, they only work sometimes. This was an expensive purchase to get 2 and they only work sometimes (when fully charged)
