This pole folds up very easily, but when extended it feels to be a good rod good to have for backup. This is a unique design that looks cool.Now when I went fishing and i also found many problems with the fishing rod. It did cast properly about 5 times. Then it started no more casting and when it does you cant reel it back. I thought this to just be a bad rod but the second one did the samething.I have taken the rods apart. They need to be made of metal for the reel portion. I would gladly pay for the change.There is no way to correct the reel.They cut to deep to save money. Be on the look out for Instant fisherman 3In it's present condition this rod most be avioded. This would be one of your worst fishing investments.Do not buy, even to test, there is no way to correct this reel design.

My cats became obsessed with a new toy that was a simple bundle of plastic strings dangling from a cord attached to a stick. When the stick broke from rough play, I thought of trying a collapsible fishing rod and reel to replace the stick and extend the range of use for the cat toy. The Pocket Fisherman came to mind from all the TV ads seen over the years. However, when I read about the instant Fisherman 2, it sounded like this would be a better solution. It was. It stores neatly in the living room under a side table and opens up quickly when the cats are ready to play. The only issue I've had is the last segment at the tip got stuck in the extended position and when I tried twisting it to work it loose, it actually broke the tip off. I just cut off that segment and continue to use the rod with a slightly reduced overall length.

looks awesome and very portable and durable. however the reel got tangled several times in line and i couldnt cast. its also hard to keep still in hand because of its weight

Bought it to give as a gift. Product seemed good, sturdy, just as described. But I did not use it and I cannot say how good it is when used.

This product doesn't rate a review... why does Amazon associate their reputation on saling a product like this...??? first time I cast the rod the eyelet, the end on the rod broke in half.... only had bate on it... cast it out, reeled it back in and the pole was broken... I bought two... the other one, line kept getting tangled from just normal casting the cheap fishing line it has on it....maybe if I put a descent line on it, it just might work properly..... only if it doesn't break like the other..... JUST DON"T GET STUCK & BUY THIS PRODUCT !!!!!!!!!

I bought Instant Fisherman 2 Normal rod Amateur Level. It can be Instant Fisherman 1 It is much better. 3,5 Stars do not deserve more than.

I bought this for my anniversary with my boyfriend, for him, he loves to fish and since I drive a truck this is awesome. it fits in the bottom of his tackle box so it doesn't take up extra room. he loves the way it casts and the easy way it collapses. you cant tell from the pics but the reel handles fold down to. not a fisher myself but he loves this reel. my son and dad want one to. instant winner!
