Best brush for long costs with matting! Life saver!
I bought several brushes at once to try; I have dogs with long medium and short coats so I figured I’d try them all on all the hair lengths.I have a senior Great Pyrenees who is unable to travel to a groomer. His mane became matted from sitting in dirt, rainy days, and slobber after drinking. I already had a few brushes but none of them got deep enough to detangle the hair. I bought three brushes to try on him. This one was by far the best. The small wooden one in the photo was great but only on short and medium hair. The black and blue one is designed to cut, however, the pressure needed for the blades to actually cut the hair was too much for my old man and caused him discomfort. This brush did great at detangling and brushing out the undercoat. Gentle pressure and brushing slowly worked best. My friend is looking fluffy again and he enjoys brushing when I use this particular brush! Highly recommend to help with matting but also for regular brushing. This brush was great for all hair lengths, all the dogs enjoyed it. On medium and short hair it think it’s great for regular brushing, although at those lengths, it didn’t seem to remove too much of the undercoat though. I think going in with a different brush that would help remove the undercoat and then brushing with this one would be best as this brush does gather it very well.

How can you love a pet brush?
I don't know what kind of magic this company infused their brush with, but it works and I'm not second guessing it. I have a mini double doodle (a glorified VERY expensive mutt that's half mini goldendoodle and half mini labradoodle) who has a tight wavy coat and then an obscene amount of cats because when I see their little faces I can't say no.I've been through way too many slicker brushes to even try to come up with an accurate estimate, but this is truly the first one I've ever liked, and I like it enough to say I love it.Every single self cleaning brush I've used before, doesn't really self clean very well. They bring the hair to the top of the brush, but still leave it about 1/4" into the bristles. This one brings the hair all the way above the bristles so there's no fighting to get the hair out of the brush. Legit "self cleaning", and it's my everything.I have arthritis in my hands and it doesn't hurt to hold this, or to actually use it, because there is a difference. And big bonus, it doesn't hurt my animals when they get brushed either. Now, the best part of all....it actually removed hair...a lot of it! The last slicker brush I had would basically rake up a lot of hair and catch some of it, but leave most of it just loose on my animals' coat. This one actually catches the hair it loosens. It's extremely satisfying to have a mound of hair that's in the bin, rather than on my clothes and furniture. So to the designers, I think you might be pet brush gods. Thank you for using your talents and making brushing time easier and more efficient.

Button sticks
The brush is great and works well on matted areas. The bristles protract with the push of a button but it sticks. It takes several pushes to protract so I usually end up using a comb to clean the hair off the bristles.

FINALLY! A brush that my doggie likes!!!
She's 9 now. How did I not know about this brush?! It gently works through her double coat without causing any pulling, and feels good to her, especially on her chest and under her ears, like a good scratch-petting! I love how with the flick of your thumb you can retract the metal teeth, slide the hair off, then continue brushing, without breaking the rhythm of your dog's mindset.

Awesome brush
I have to say I love this brush. I held off on buying a new brush (even though I really needed a new brush) but am sooooo happy with this purchase. I have two GSD dogs and one Pitty and LOTS of fur! When shedding season starts it takes weeks of daily brushing to help the girls shed all that fur. However, this new brush is way more effective (similar style as the old one but more teeth) and the ease of cleaning the brush enables me to get more brushing done in less time. The dogs also like it and I find I can brush their undersides without them telling me to stop! So I give this a total 5 star thumbs up!

A little harsh
I lovehow easy it is to clean the brush afterwards, however as gentle as I use it on my dog's they seemed to find it a little harsh on certain areas ( which I didn't see coming bcz my dogs have a thick coat and are long haired) , only for this reason I would not recommend. I'll try finding one with more gentle bristles

GOOD BRUSH
This is a very stiff brush, but it does a great job of picking up loose hair on your dogs body. You don’t want to drag it real hard across them because it could scratch your skin but it certainly seems to soothe them when they’re itching so I just gently run it over them and they just love it and so far it hasn’t fallen apart. it was good for the price and I’m happy with it.

Like Swiffer for Pets!
Very rarely do I buy into the reviewer bandwagon and say that anything is the absolute "best." But honestly, I have to agree in this case. I use this on all 3 dogs (Lab, Basset Hound, Pointer). Also, I use this on my short and long hair cats. Here are the reasons:1) The angle is perfect. It's made with a natural angle so to reaches all layers of hair. Also, does not put your wrist at an uncomfortable angle.2) Something about the material it's made with creates some type of attraction to hair. I don't want to say it creates static but it is something similar. Like a Swiffer for animals!3) The bristles aren't sharp so all animals not only tolerate it's use...they love it. Even the super sensitive cats. When I pull out this brush - they all gather around waiting for their turn. No, I'm not exaggerating,4) The hair release mechanism is brilliant. This brush totally retracts so the hair literally falls right out of the bristles vs some that just push the hair up from the bristles. There is no need to use my hand other to pull the fur out.I'm about to purchase a second brush - for strategic placement around the house. Really,,,you should give this brush a try!
