I have been searching for a leather, quick-release collar for what seems like ages, and either the leather seemed flimsy, the product was mostly webbing, or the buckle was plastic instead of metal — sometimes all of the above! I just wanted a collar that would fit my tiny puppy, made of a natural material, and that was aesthetically pleasing. I'll admit, I'm a sucker for a good-looking product, but I wanted to make sure that whatever I bought wasn't going to fall apart with a sneeze. Because Percy is a little guy — his maximum adult weight is fifteen pounds, and he's only a few months old right now — a lot of the collars I looked at seemed too heavy for his neck. This Leather Paws collar is adjustable, so it can grow with him, and the hardware is super beefy! I tugged on the collar while closed, and the clip didn't budge at all. We're not going to be using the collar to attach to Percy's leash, because I feel that a harness is safer for his size, so the purpose is mostly to hold his tags. Still, if we needed to, the D-ring is hefty enough that I believe it could easily accommodate the clip for his leash as well.I expected this collar to arrive by Friday at the earliest, and it came Tuesday afternoon (three days ahead of schedule)! The sweet little flocked bag it came in will be great to store the collar in as needed, and I can't wait for Percy to come home so we can try it on!
