APM #324N Nickel Plated Ligature Cap for Bb Clarinet

Not what I expected, but pretty great anyway.
A bit of backstory: my mouthpiece cap disappeared off the face of the earth recently. I ordered this one as a replacement because it was cheap and I thought it looked cool.Helpful hint number one: unless they've replaced the picture of the silver mouthpiece with the detailing (the one that looks like a fancy salt shaker), the product you get looks nothing like the pictured cover. It's really just a plain nickel tube with a cutout for the screws on your ligature and a hole in the top, presumably to air the mouthpiece out.A (more helpful) picture: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/414jgiZAeJL._SS300_.jpgHelpful hint number two: This will NOT fit a leather/cloth/thicker metal ligature. The ligature I currently have on my mouthpiece is a basic metal ligature like the American Plating ones on this website. The cap is still almost a tight fit. If you have a leather ligature, I'd recommend looking somewhere else. I know that Rovner makes replacement mouthpiece caps that fit their ligatures, and it's actually a bit cheaper than this one. It does what it needs to, even if I was somewhat hoping for the fancy embellished cap I saw in the picture. The nickel plating looks fine, and the cap...well, it covers.

Waste of Money
This product is laughably small. As you can see in the picture, it barely fits over the tapered portion of the mouthpiece. I have a standard Bb clarinet, and I even had friends in my section try the cap out too, and lo and behold it didn't fit a single one. I'm very disappointed.

My granddaughter loves it. I feel better that now she can protect her clarinet mouth piece.

Plastic would have worked better
The cap does not slide onto the mouthpiece with a ligature attached. Defeats the purpose for protecting the reed, ligature and mouthpiece.

Shiny
Works as expected.

cheap, basic replacement
This is an inexpensive, basic cover that gets the job done. There is so much potential for breaking mouthpieces and reeds during marching band season. My daughter lost her good cap, and we needed another in a hurry. This for the bill.

This metal cap just looks better on my clarinet than plastic ones
Lost this cap in middle school decades ago. This metal cap just looks better on my clarinet than plastic ones.
