Ansa Muffler

This is a great muffler if you want smooth sporty performance and sound on your e30 BMW. It took a little work to get it on the stock dual pipes, but it did fit. Throttle response is smooth and sound is mello but sporty at higher RPMs. I wish I'd done this years ago. Also, the stock muffler straps worked fine to secure it, despite some info on Internet to the contrary. See photos for fit to 325i. The muffler arrived a bit dented, but was able to repair myself with a bit of paint and muffler pipe flaring tool. Amazon refunded some $$ to cover the damage in shipping. All good.

I chose this muffler because I have a like new E30 and I wanted a stock looking muffler with improved sound. First, this muffler is very heavy. Also, I had to cut the flat plate that is welded to the two pipes in half in order to spread them to the width of the Ansa muffler. The bends on the Ansa sweep a little to the left, and the mount in the center of the car is off at least an inch stretching the insulator. I only mention this because if I had known this I could have installed in a reasonable amount of time. Once installed, it sounds nicer than stock and it does not look tacky.
