This would be OK for an inexpensive knife. A knife with a good blade is too much for this to handle. I've tried this type sharpener before. The ceramic surface is so small it is immediately clogged. There's really no way to clean it by washing with scotchbright like you would a ceramic rod. On a good blade, it really struggles to reshape the edge. Bottom line, if you want a quick touchup on a soft blade this is OK. If you want the knife sharp, do something different.

Good product.. though it takes a bit more for sharpeningthat your average stones.. though for a quick sharpening before cooking.. great.. safe for the kids to use when they want to help out..

Easy to use and works good. I sharpened a 1 1/2 year old knife that was used daily but never before sharpened. It took 3 separate times and a little while getting used using the sharpener.

I have not used it a lot at this time, but the results this far seem to be very good.

Doesn’t seem to make much of a difference on old knives. I purchased this hoping I would not need to replace them but this sharpener doesn’t make much difference.
