A Wonderful Plant!
I purchased my xerographica in October of 2014 from Hinterland. I think it is an excellent plant and very easy to care for. I run it under the kitchen sink sprayer (we have well water NOT city water) for a minute, making sure that all surfaces are wet. Then I place it upside down on the dish rack to drain off. When the underside is dry, I turn it over and let the other side dry. I also shake it a number of times to get as much water out as I can. I do this type of watering about once a month over the winter. In summer it's outside in a protected, shady spot and I spray it (and my other air plants) with the mist setting on the hose probably once a week because it is subject to heat and wind. Once in a great while it gets some rain on it, but rarely. I then hang it in the sun and wind for a little while (upside down) until the inside is dry, then I just hang it back up in it's spot. I made a nice little hanger out of jewelry wire, with some beads that match the plant and use that for display. And I've never used any fertilizer on it either. This is not a fast growing plant and I've been keeping track of it's growth:2014 - 7"x 9"2015 - 7"x 10"2018 - 10" x 12" (Many of the leaves are curled up and I just measured him that way.)I think the keys to a successful xerographica is make sure it drys completely after watering, misting it once a week in winter as well, and making sure it is not in a dry, dark, room. It's not fool proof by any means, but is pretty simple compared to many other plants.I love this plant and would highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind the simple routine used to keep it flourishing.

arrived healthy and in excellent shape!
This was a total impulse buy; I've never had an air plant before and I don't even know how I ended with these things in my recommendations list. But, I thought it looked cool and I've been meaning to get some more plants for my office, so I took the plunge. When mine arrived, it was in great condition, considering it had been packed in a box for 3 or 4 days. It was big -- maybe 6 or 7 inches in diameter. The leaves are a gray-green but when you mist it with water or soak it, they take on a greener color (although they change back to the gray-green as the water evaporates). Mine came with instructions to mist every 3 days and a bonus packet of sunflower seeds, which I totally intend to plant in pots on my back porch. I love little touches like that.Anyway, I'm quite pleased with the plant I got. I think it looks just like the picture and it'll make a great addition to my office. I'll probably put it in a glass dish with some stones or marbles to enhance the aesthetics. Can't wait until it flowers (though I think that will be awhile).

Just beautiful!
My Xerographica arrived healthy and in great condition. People can’t believe how big it is. You can see from the photos that it’s well over 12 inches and the longest tendril is at least 19 inches from base to tip. I didn’t want to stretch it out too far for fear of injuring it. Several of its arms are curled up underneath but when spread out a little it becomes a huge plant and sturdy enough to cling to my corner shelf without being mounted to anything. I saw at least one person complaining about a broken tendril and I have to say that with plants, try to be flexible for some variation or imperfections. Broken limbs happen in nature and is a normal part of a plant's life cycle. Although slower than most house plants, your xero will still send out a new leaf if cared for correctly. I also want to note that customer service at Hinterland Trading is top notch responding quickly to all my queries. I would highly recommend purchasing your own xero from them. Their pricing is very reasonable compared to my local nurseries in SoCal, many of which do not carry xero’s in this size.

HUGE XEROGRAPHIA.....MUCH LARGER THAN PICTURED OR EXPECTED.
I am THRILLED with Hinterland Trading. Their products and plants are indescribable. On my first order, my most previous order, I had a small issue......I addressed it with them, and they resolved it in an OVERWHELMINGLY positive manner. To be more specific, and I hope they don't mind, my first order of twelve assorted air plants was short two. They said the would be happy to fix it for me and fix it they did, with an assortment of SIXTEEN small plants......FAR above and beyond the call of duty. I have become obsessed with air plants and with driftwood, globes to hang, more plants, and books. I especially like Hinterland Trading. They were my first, and they continue to please. This plant arrived.....as always, problem-free. It is much larger than the picture, and has an open, airy feel to it......the leaves curl beautifully. I would have expected to pay much much more for this size and asymmetrical beauty.....I am VERY VERY pleased.

Great fun ......
I received mine about 3-4 months ago and I absolutely love it. I have become an air plant lover! I take mine once a week, and totally immerse it in water for about 30 min., take it out and just lay it on a towel to drip dry, then I spray it with the fertilizer and put it in it's dish with pebbles on the bottom. Right now, the ends of some of the thinner leaves get brown and I clip them off. I think that may be because of the lack of humidity due to needing to have the heat on. I'm wondering if I could keep it in the bathroom where it would get more humidity ..... very, very, minimal light though.I really love these plants ..... also have a small one in a seashell. So cute.bb
