The Berliner recipe makes the purchase worth it.
The media could not be loaded. The recipe was superb. The donuts were soft and fluffy. I had some leftover dough and made some cinnamon rolls with it. And oh my God, they were super soft the next day. I’ve been baking for the last 25 years and have master recipes for donuts and cinnamon rolls and I gotta say I’ll be replacing my master recipe with this one. Also, if you can get your hands on fresh yeast, I highly recommend it. my local restaurant store carries it and it’s been a game changer on all my yeast recipes. I’ve always used dry active yeast, because it was hard to get a hold of fresh, but would rather use fresh yeast. Its super cheap $2.50 for a large brick of it, you can’t go wrong. Happy baking. 😊

Recipes You Can Really Make at Home..Doughnuts and more
These recipes are easy to understand and they use common ingredients. Everything is described clearly, no guesswork. When I first started to read this book I thought "I can do this!" and when I looked at the ingredients I was so happy because I had everything at home already. No shopping trrip required! I love that all the secrets and tips are there for you. I have a lot of respect for professionals that share all their secrets, so I'm not wasting time and ingredients. I am very thrilled with this book. Thank you for putting together such a gem of a book. Love the recipes, the stories and the way it's written. So worth it!

delish variety of doughnuts
I like the variety between dessert vs. breakfast doughnuts, also yeast-raised and cake doughnuts. The suggested accompaniments with the doughnuts are also creative & awesome. Great photos and descriptions for each recipe.

Perfect book for doughnuts
Perfect book for doughnuts. The basic Berliner dough formula is great; very versatile. All the pictures are great and relevant with awesome context. Formatting how the book was written and organized is perfect as well; love the flow. Definitely a book I would highly recommend to any of my pastry chef and baker friends.

Great place to start.
This is a great cookbook if you are new to doughnut making or baking. The instructions are easy to follow. The results were fantastic. I made the filled doughnut with the caramel pastry cream. I made a dark chocolate frosting instead of the caramel coating. They turned out GREAT! The author starts out with the basic recipes that he uses for raised doughnuts and cake doughnuts leaving plenty of room to create your own doughtnuts with your own fillings and toppings. This will be my go to doughnut cookbook.

I have looked through the book with my 4 years old grandson and he is excited for me to start baking.

A little disappointed with this recipe book
A little disappointed with this recipe book. Some of the recipes are just disgusting. There is a chocolate glaze in here that I was very excited about, and when it was made it tasted just strait up coco and was way too bitter to eat.

Best donuts ever
I was new to donut making, but every recipe I’ve tried in here has been a success. There are lots of delicious flavor combinations, but I’ve had a hard time moving on past the basic Berliner since it’s so dang good just by itself.
