Untold: A History of the Wives of Prophet Muhammad

"Untold" is positively telling
I used Untold in my "Women in Muslim Cultures" course and the students found it meaningful, moving, and powerful in bringing the lives and legacies of the wives to life. Tamam definitely brings readers inside the life of the Prophet and his wives in a unique and intimate way. Tamam has crafted a caring and careful set of portraits of these important women of early Islamic history. She has consulted numerous original and secondary sources to glean from them the essence of their lives to create a reading experience that is moving and insightful, both scholarly and personal. Highly recommended.

Poetic Prose
This academically researched book is a beautiful blend of poetry and prose. Although I have traveled in the Middle East and studied Islam for many years, a better understanding of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad was gained by reading this delightful book. I recommend this book to any serious student of Islam. James Harper Burton, Ph. D., author of HUMAN NATURE MEDITATIONS - CONCENTRATIONS FOR MANAGERS AND OTHER HUMAN BEINGS.

more poetry than history
I expected a historic treatise on the role, enfluence and contribution of the woves of the prophet. A poetic essay, not exactly thirst quinching

Not what I thought it would be
Itโs not what I thought it would be. The title is very misleading. It should have been โThe Wives of the Prophet and Iโ.
