Review: Lots of great patterns - This book provides a lot of patterns based on different Native American tribal designs. I also like that they suggest bead colors as I am a beginner and a little color challenged. The book discusses bead weaving (using a loom) and applique beading (on fabric), but if you're a beginner you'll probably have to look on YouTube for more info. I think this is more of a pattern/design book than a how-to bead book. I am actually to try to use these patterns for embroidery, which I think is also doable. The first part of the book presents designs for bead weaving and the second part presents designs for applique beading. There are more designs for bead weaving than for applique beading. There is no table of contents or index, so if you're looking for designs from or inspired by a particular tribe you have to page through the book. Here's a list of tribes covered. I've tried to be as accurate as possible but provide no guarantee to accuracy. The tribe names are those as printed in the book. Note that the designs for a specific tribe aren't covered in consecutive pages, and for example you may find Sioux designs on pages 4, 8, 11, 30, etc. The number in parentheses indicates the number of patterns/designs. Bead weaving patterns/designs: (45 pages of patterns or varying sizes): * Algonquian (1) * Arapaho (5) * Assisinboin (1) * Blackfoot (1) * Caddoan Villagers * Cheyenne (4) * Comanche (1) * Crow (7) * Dakota Sioux (4) * Deleware (1) * Flathead (1) * Gros Ventre (1) * Kickapoo (2) * Kiowa (2) * Klamath (2) * Paiute (2) * Osage (1) * Menominee (2) * New England Tribe * Plains (1) * Plains Cree (3) * Potawatatomi (1) * Sacree (1) * Sauk and Fox (3) * Seminole (2) * Sioux (6) * Southern Plains (1) * Washo (1) * Winnebago (10) (No indication Nebraska or Wisconsin tribes) * Woodland (2) * Yakima (2) Applique beading patterns/designs: (12 pages) * Chippewa (3) * Cree (1) * Flathead (1) * Iroquois (1) * Menominee (1) * Ojibwa (1) * Plains Cree (1) * Potawatatomi (1) * Winnebago (2)
Review: Super patterns - Great hook

Great hook

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Authentic Native American Art
*by M***A on June 19, 2018*

This book is accurate as a representation of Native American Art. The patterns are easy to follow no problems there. If you want color patterns just take out your color pencils and color it in. The cost of the book is as it should be I have no problem there. Remember our native peoples only had so many colors available and the beads were roughly made from sea shell and bone not glass. These patterns meant something to the weaver and those tribes wearing them. I am enjoying these creations. These are a teaching point to our children and grandchildren.
