Excellent product
This scribing tool is a bit pricey but it's worth every penny. I build and install high end cabinetry. When it comes to scribes, there are many way to do it, but this tool takes scribing to a different level. Not only is it easy to use, but it gives perfect scoring line to crime and fit the wall nice and tight. The scoring line in many ways is better option vs pencil line because when working with dark wood, it's easy to see and follow a scoring line while pencil markings blend into dark wood making it hard to scribe precisely. Also, when working with melamine or veneered fillers/panels, the scoring line reduces chances for chipping. This product changed the way I scribe and I've retrained my all of my installers to a different way of scribing.

~This a WORLD CLASS ELITE scribing tool~
I first used this tool to scribe a paint grade bench with a full back, a two sided leg and th other scribed to the wall, and then on a 12’ long by 2” thick white oak floating shelf that was up against grass paper and very wobbly.. the scribe glided over the incredibly delicate grass paper, cutting a scribe line that I cut to, and did not have to scribe a second time.. in fact I’m positive I’ll never have to re fit a scribe with this tool.. it’s easier than holding a shim pack to a scribing knife because you can just move the blade in a fluid increment with the threaded shaft exactly to your widest reveal and remove the absolute least amount of material possible, just like a good mill hand on a 12” jointer.. the contact surface is designed to protect paint, clear coat, and even grass paper, and other similar finished wall coverings. This is the best cabinet scribing tool you will ever find...

Really like this tool
This is a really great scribing tool. I've been using it to scribe 6" base moulding that needs to conform to an uneven floor. I only attach one blade, and with each point being numbered, I can progress through them as they dull without wondering which one is sharp and which is dull. While this tool is not cheap, it is high quality and works very precisely. It makes it easy to do quality work.

This one is for work
As a commercial finish carpenter, I am always looking for something that makes the job easier. I should have bought this years ago.

Expensive, but worth it
I have tried many techniques and tools for scribes over the years and this tool blows everything else away. Ridiculously simple to use, unreal results, and has halved the time it takes me to complete a scribe to a wonky wall.100% recommend to any professional, though If you are a DIYer using this once or twice it's price tag may not be worth it.

Best tool for the job! IF ONLY REPLACEMENT BLADES WHERE READILY AVAILABLE!
Best tool for the job. I own two. A cut line is so much more accurate than any drawn line hands down. Most compass style scribes use a pencil. If you scribe a 16' board your line gets wider as the graphite dulls. It would be great if any of these offerings accepted a #5 mechanical pensile but most will not, and those that do are so tight you'll never get it out. That is where this tool shines. On many surfaces graphite will hardly be visible if at all.The only negative thing I've found is that though the blades have 3 points each, carbide is brittle and once a you chip a point you will start looking for new blades to ensure the best tool you've ever used to scribe with will be useful for your entire career. So far I've been unable.....I also must say that one of the perks of this tool is the incredibly well thought out storage box it comes in.The comment about taking the blades off each time is inaccurate! You can store it in the container fully assembled at any height as the lid is adjustable! this is a huge plus! Now where are the blades?
