Update almost one year later Still working as intended no issues whatsoever. I would highly recommend this for it longevity and quality. This replacement charging port has given my tablet a new lease on life! I was on the brink of giving up on it due to a faulty port, but this part was a perfect fit and incredibly easy to install. So far, it's been working flawlessly, and my tablet charges like a dream. It's a bit early to give a definitive verdict on its long-term durability, but initial impressions are excellent. I'll update this review in a few months to provide a more comprehensive assessment.

No instructions came with it but videos are available that shows how to disassemble the tablet, thankfully. The hardest part is getting the screen off. Once that's done, it's just popping off a few connectors, unscrewing a few screws (ok a lot of screws and NOT losing them like I did :D ) I had to get out a razor blade and CAREFULLY get things started near a corner. Once that was done, I was able to use the items provided in the kit to open things up. I also used a little rubbing alcohol which helped things slide along and I think helped loosen the glue a bit as well. You will need to heat the screen or the tablet to ~75 degrees C in order to soften the glue. I used the bed of my 3d printer but others have used a hair dryer or heat gun. If you use a heat gun be very very careful not to overheat things or you'll wind up ruining something. you want the unit to be hot and just a touch uncomfortable heat-wise but not so hot where you'll get burned if you touch it. You've gotten it too warm if that's the case. Good luck!

My daughter's tablet has lost it's ability to charge. We would plug it in then need to manipulate the cord until we could get a connection. This product solved this issue. I did not need to manipulate it modify the product in any way to install it. I did need to take the rubber grommet off of the old card and put it on this one to maintain the water resistance. Installation warning: installation is not trivial. You will need a better kit than what comes with this product. There are several decent videos on installing one of these. You will need a heat gun or a blow drier. The idea of cutting the tape is not workable. I do not recommend trying that method. Finally, you will need either electronics double sided tape intended for sealing devices after working on them or a precut sealing template.

One year ago I installed the part and it didn't work. Past the 30 day return window of course. Gave up. Came back one year later and inspected the part to realize it was not rev1.0. the picture shows that text written on the part but mine does not have it. My loss I guess New update: 2/2025 I had this part tested by a technician and found out it was defective. It was never my fault, I did buy the correct part. To my understanding, a lot of these types of OEM parts are soldered via machine. On the chip I received, there was an issue with the charge ports soldered connection. It was DOA. Too bad I will never get my money back. Buyer beware, quality control is lacking on this item. Thanks
