So necessary! It's awesome
I set up motion detectors around the house, get texts for that and all the other things (heat usage stats daily, tells you when you lose internet connection) it is so great. lockout t-stat, set limits for temp, schedule it 6 ways to sunday, see solar index, outside temp, indoor temp, wind, all graphed out. Free service (no app tho :( ) just go through web browser.Awesome.Reliable too; had it over a year now. Doesn't screw up.

Works fairly well, schedule chart can be confusing.
I like the concept but waiting on some refinement. The Pro's -1) Being able to limit minimum and maximum temperature levels.2) Able to use motion sensor to automatically adjust temperature.3) Control system remotely via website or phone app.4) Auto circulation mode. Kicks the fan on a few minutes every hour just to move some air.5) Auto changeover between heat and cool based on temperture6) Pretty easy to hookup as long as the wiring between your furance and thermostat are easy to get to. Just cut the thermostat cable and splice the control inline. Power up and program. The Con's -1) The swing temperature ins't adjustable. They claim 1 degree from setpoint but it almost seems like more. Most decent programmable thermostats have an adjustable swing setting that can go down to about 1/2 degree. There is too much of a temperature change between the heat/AC coming on and off.2) Temperature programming. You really only get two temperature settings but four "modes" in which one of the two is chosen. Would like to be able to have more temperature setting options in the motion sensing modes or more morning, day, evening, nightime type settings.3) You MUST be connected to the internet and it can only be programmed via internet. Fine but if you disconnect it after programming it you have to look at the display throwing out the E3 message all the time and after a few days the thermostat loses the program. Goes to default operating mode which is no restricitons or schedule.

Bayweb vs Nest
I have had my Bayweb for 7 years. The unit has been great, very reliable. I recently thought I would make the leap to the Nest because of the software associated with the Bayweb is a bit dated but it works. I did this without reading reviews on the Nest mobile apps or without reading allot about the Nest period. I thought if Google bought them they must be good..... I never installed the Nest after I found out the there is absolutely historical data with the Nest and the poor reviews of the Mobile app, it is not as smart as you would think. With the Bayweb I have historical usage charts graph going back 7 years. The scheduler works fine. The Mobile app is not pretty but it works The hardware just works and works. Again the interface takes a bit to get use too but once you programmed you can walk away for this thing. Plug and Play
